NC ELECTIONS BOARD DISMISSES CAMPAIGN COMPLAINTS

By GARY D. ROBERTSON : Associated Press Writer
The Associated Press
Oct 14, 2008

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The State Board of Elections on Tuesday dismissed all complaints filed against two national party groups seeking to influence the fall elections in North Carolina using sibling organizations.

The dismissals came after three hours of hearings by the board about the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and the Republican Governors Association. Both political organizations have raised money which has been funneled to similar state political action committees they created...

Fess up N&O-Fairness is Expected

You published a story criticizing the McCrory campaign without getting the facts and it would have only taken a phone call to the Board of Elections. North Carolina's voters deserve better. You can start by posting a retraction not only on this website but more importantly, in your newspaper

And how about doing some research on the real story about Beverly's contributors involved in possible payoffs regarding the ethanol plant! A state employee is in jail because of this.

Re: Election official: McCrory reports complete

Amen "concerned 53". The N&O does owe an apology but McCrory will never get one because the "Old Faithful" is in full campaign mode and tailors the headlines and stories to help their beloved liberal democrats. One would think that if they had any credibility they would pursue Pander Bear Perdue's delinguent reports but don't hold your breath. Selective relevance and indignation is the order of the day at this rag.

McCrory reports complete-Retraction is owed by N&O

This is an example of incomplete, if not biased reporting by Benjamin Niolet and the Raleigh News & Observer. Did the reporter or his editors even bother to verify the missing donor information with anyone at the Board of Elections? Did you talk with Kim Strach last week before writing this article or did Beverly tell you to write this non-story so she might try to discredit Mayor McCrory? Was Beverly's missing information over 2 years also due to computer glitches (not) or real concerns?

Take some personal responsibility for not uncovering the truth for this story. Your readers are owed a retraction for this poor example of shoddy journalism!
