Then the democrat party should find nearly its entire history inappropriate.

The democrat party was the party of slavery, the Dred Scott decision, Jim Crow, Segregation, lynching, the KKK, Wilmington Race Riots, unleashing dogs and fire hoses on blacks, Bull Conner, Lester Maddox, George Wallace, and innumerable other atrocities committed against black Americans.

the most famous antislavery book before the war of southern stupidity (i had 6 ancestors killed in sc regiments) was written by a north carolinian. nothern capital funded the industrial development of nc when there was no capital here because of the stupid war. who do you think built the mills and factories that brought nc out of a small farm based economy? was it northerners who committed to make our university and community college system the best and most affordable public system in the southeast? northern companies created the jobs in the research triangle after our own "liberal" leaders had the foresight to encourage development while places like alabama were fighting to keep a large portion of their own people down.

do you really want nc to stay mired in a racist, poverty stricken past like mississippi? will that make you feel superior?

Yep the carpetbaggers come, then they want to change our way of life. Did I mention they also love to make fun of us? Yet, we have the great climate and as jesmyopinion said, lower taxes and such so here they come. I think we should say to them like we say to the illegal aliens, learn our language.

I think many people from up north moved down and caused this shift. Up north, costs are too high due to high taxes and jobs are going away due to the unions demands which is causing many people to move to NC as there are more jobs due to less unions and prices are lower as taxes are not as high - I guess all those people from up north will now ruin it done here as it got ruined up there. I am from up north and moved down decades ago so am not glad to see this shift - keep your liberal views up north people!

If Robin Hayes destroyed the textile industry I must be a astronaut. It was being destroyed long before Robin arrived in Washington, DC. If you are going to blame Robin for that....Let's blame him for the decline in the furniture industry, auto industry, tobacco industry......How about every small business that Walmart or the like sent packing.

Robin Hayes hasnt done a single thing besides destroy our states textile industry while a member of congress. And you want us to believe that as a losing candidate for governor he actually got something done?
