OK, now this is just petty. Melissa Jarrell would seriously blow away equality that was won for her and other LGBTQs just to get back at her ex? Wow.

Too many children are being raised without a mother and a father. Women bring strenths and weakness into raising a child, as do men. So when you have 2 women, or 2 men raising a child, the child is missing out on the strengths of the opposite sex.

Wasn't the child growing up without a father anyway? I don't see why people object to same sex couples adopting. There is no shortage of kids that need families, and the fact is same sex couples communicate and resolve disagreements better than heterosexual couples.

"How does it suit a minor child's interests and needs to grow up without a father?"

The court has to deal with the facts at hand so your question is of no relevance.

Let's not stop there. Marijuana use by Boseman (raised by Jarrell) must be also considered legal and proper now in North Carolina too.* Not the Cicero of ancient Roman history

No doubt you are not aware that Cicero smoke Roman Pot while defending the liberty of the SPQR peoples, while the Roman establishment law and order freaks banished him to parts unknown in the Empire.....

"....... so long as they protect the minor’s 'needs, interests, and rights,'" Judge Wanda Bryant wrote in the opinion.

So Judge Bryant ruled that it was in this child's "needs, interests, and rights," to have Boseman as a parent.

Let's not stop there. Marijuana use by Boseman (raised by Jarrell) must be also considered legal and proper now in North Carolina too.

Re: She's watching the detectives

Private investigators are not exempt from any North Carolina law. If an investigator were to "secretly peep" by going onto property without owners permission he/she can be subject to arrest for doing so. Senator Boseman's Bill has been put forth either because she does not understand criminal law or she is doing so because of a specific vendetta she has against a particular private investigator who caught her with her pants down while working in session in Raleigh. Senator Boseman was caught by Mr. Benson, not only violating a direct court order not to take her ex-partner's child out of town without permission, she was residing with lobbyist Theresa Kostrzewa which caused quite a bit of a stir among those House and Senate members who abide by the rules of ethics.

The Private Protective Services Board made a mistake in their review of Boseman's complaint against Mr. Benson. Upon the discovery of evidence presented documenting proper licensing, Benson is allowed to appeal his letter of reprimand. Benson has been a fully licensed private investigator since 2004.

This seems to be sport for Senator Boseman at the expense of the people of North Carolina. I would suggest that Sen. Boseman focus on the budget and how we can afford some of the other costly programs she and others have already committed the taxpayers to in their quest to garner votes and campaign funds.

What's next from this troubled troublemaker only God knows, but we are all sure to stay tuned...

Boseman to jail?

Its a crying shame the US Attorney isn't watching Julia Boseman (Dem Crook-New Hanover) instead of a PI.

She is an absolute embarrassment to the State Senate and in that body that is saying something.

And what about the allegation about a signature on a campaign report by the campaign treasurer that looks wackydoo.

We read about Thomas Wright daily it seems but the hammer came down at the Wilmington Star News about info regarding Boseman.

...for Boseman, unknown to her former partner, to transfer the property in foreclosure our of Boseman's name and into her partner's?

It doesn't change the fact that she is still a co-signer of the mortgage. Which means she is legally responsible for the debt, which means the bank is foreclosing on her.

Not withstanding Boseman's legal hijinks, she hasn't paid her taxes or a mortgage payment that she is responsible for since last August.

What an example of leadership.

I am appalled!
