The public, and particularly our farming community, needs answers. How many goats must suffer, just to meet the insatiable sexual desires of Ryan Teague Beckwith. He's probably molested a good 7 or 8 goats just in the time it took me to write this post.

Anyways, there's an equal amount of evidence in both the RTB's goat-boy and Edwards' love-child stories. As such, the N&O ought to at least run a story.

Maybe, but I think it would be strange to treat the topic as though it were appropriate for him to discuss with you or me or the newspaper.

Teague Beckwith urged to address baby-goat story

Several senior staff members at the News & Observer say Ryan Teague Beckwith needs to address claims that he fathered a child with a local goat.

With two weeks before his annual review, some prominent newspapermen say that the N&O journalist has to address a story in the Under the Dome comments section to save his spot as a reporter.

As a formerly respected journalist, Teague Beckwith would normally be a shoo-in for a 2% salary increase. But some worry that lingering questions about man/goat improprieties will be raised if Teague Beckwith asks for a raise.

Teague Beckwith has tried to ignore the story and has avoided talking with other reporters at length.

"If it's not true, he's got to stand up and say, 'This is not true. That is not my goat-child and I'm going to take legal action against the people who are spreading these lies.' It's not enough to keep silent" said Gary Pearce, a strategist who negotiated Melanie Sills' 2007 retirement package.

John Drescher, the paper's executive editor, said that Teague Beckwith has to give "an explanation that's satisfactory if he wants to crack minimum wage."

But you're right, he doesn't have to play, but when Edwards is silent it sure seems strange for such a talkative fella.

Sure, it's "fair game." It's a game Edwards doesn't have to play, though.

It's beyond stupid that in this country we're so caught up in the private lives of public figures that we drive the best ones away for something this irrelevant.

cat's out--- the story is on the newstands with pictures and specific details including filing of criminal suit by the Enquirer reporters.

National Enquirer reported by Politico to be owned by company connected to former Clinton Treasury official Roger Altman--- a big Democratic donor to Bowles, Clinton and others.

Agree the least said by Edwards the better. It's private matter but probably nixes any political aspirations he has for near future?

But as a public figure it is fair game for media.
