Yep hmmmmmmmmmm

I'm thinking of someone in law enforcement that has been charged with enforcing the law while being guilty of violating this ancient statute. Guess he will be relieved.

Oh, j1c2kp, don't leave yourself open to an easy rejoinder on UtD. I'm trying to maintain decorum even as numerous jokes about your "hmmmmmmmmmm" comment whiz in my mind.

Legislators often file bills to conform state statutes to court rulings. In this case, it should have been done before the Lawrence ruling (and subsequent NC Court of Appeals rulings), but finally, it's being done.

You'll soon be able to go "hmmmmmmmmm" in the privacy of your own home without fear of police dragging you away on this ancient charge as they did to an innocent Wake County citizen last year.

See also NC Court ruling

Re: Raleigh police press sodomy charges

This law is BS to begin with, but the police seem to be defying their own instructions. This act, whatever it was, was committed in private, not in public. And if a sex act is committed in public, it should be prosecuted under public indecency laws that cover and protect everyone, not laws that selectively discriminate against people for performing certain acts.
