I was told by old timers that pre 1970s "completion" of the Interstate highway system, the quickest route for some members from the mountains to Raleigh was actually though Georgia and South Carolina. The western tip of Cherokee County (the county where Marble is located)is the same distance to the Mississippi River as to Raleigh

That means of the NINE people who voted against the veto override, ALL NINE were Democrats. Zero. Let me repeat. ZERO Republicans voted against the veto override. Oh, and the bill was initially vetoed by Mike Easley, a Democratic Governor who you have repeatedly lampooned.

A series of Quinnipiac polls just released shows exactly why Clinton should be the nominee. These polls were just released today, contain a high number of interviewees, and relatively low sample size.

Florida--the state that decided the 2000 Election
Clinton 49 - McCain 41; McCain 44 - Obama 43;

Ohio--the state that decided the 2004 Election
Clinton 48 - McCain 38; McCain 43 - Obama 42:

Pennsylvania--the state Hillary just won by double digits
Clinton 51 - McCain 37; Obama 47 – McCain 38

Now I'll be the first to argue that despite Hillary's double digit win, Pennsylvania doesn't "matter". There is no meaningful delta between Clinton's 14 point victory there and Obama's 9 point victory. We win Pennsylvania no matter what.

Florida and Ohio, however, are different stories. They show a weak Obama--losing to McCain by 1 point in each state, and a strong, powerful Hillary--beating McCain by 8 in Florida and 10 in Ohio. Not only are these amounts outside of the margin of Victory, I can promise you that if Clinton wins Ohio and Florida, we have a Democratic President.

Given that the luster has worn off of the Obama is messiah shpiel, I'd like someone to show me how he comes up with 270 electoral votes based on polls taken in the last 2 weeks.

Superdelegates can accept PAC donations from candidates. As expected, Obama is the biggest donater to the superdelegates. So yes, SD can be purchased and Obama has bought a lot of them with fat donations. So the King of Lies & Division who likes to fool people into thinking he is so ethical "without ties to lobbyists" (thats a lie) has no problem in BUYING superdelegates.

The decline in Obama’s favorable rating also is evident among Democrats: 63 percent have a favorable opinion now, down from 73 percent in February. For Clinton, 73 percent of Democrats have a favorable view of her, up from 71 percent.
