Aftercancer - your assertion is unfounded and based in emotions. How come you can not celebrate Burr's efforts in the state of North Carolina? Read the full article...

And if we are sincerely talking about people that are beholden to people's money then let's look at Kay Hagan.

Trial Lawyers gave her over $10,000 for the PAC and thousands more individually and the got Lilly Leadbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009

Hagan got $234,000 from Labor Unions and they are getting her support on the Employee Free Choice Act of 2009

Hagan has voted with the Democrats like Schumer and Reid 94% of the time and I guess that is payment for the close to $11 million given to Hagan by the DSCC.

Black voters are increasingly seeing progress in supporting the party of
EMANCIPATION!

Union Co, NC just elected their first black Republican Chairman, Mr. Jim Bention and Buncombe Co NC has had same now for couple years, Dr. Tim Johnston. Black republicans are embraced for their contributions of success, not netting government programs.

It began Nov. 5.

It's like the rainy season in Seattle — July 1 through June 30.

Face it, politicians just don't care if we, as individuals, go broke paying for all the stuff they want to waste money on. And they seem to think we're dumb enough that they can justify almost anything just by labeling it "infrastructure."

These idiots just never learn. Someone has to pay for all that "free stuff". Want to stimulate the economy - cut the fat out of your budgets and use the money saved for what you really need - not what some politiican wants so he can say "look what I did". And what did he do - plunged us (taxpayers) deeper in debt.

"Our goal in releasing this list is not to advocate for individual projects, but to show cities' ability to deploy the stimulus money quickly..." If there's one thing I have faith that the dems can do is spend us into oblivion quickly. Go Remocrats! Spend all the money we don't have! :-/

With a state budget that keeps growing exponentially, they still run out of money and polish up their tin cup to go begging to the feds for more. BTW, you know where the feds get their money? Look in your back pocket for the answer.

Incredible. This bailout madness is widening. The prospect of "free money" is driving everyone into imagined privation. The spectacle of all these groups, conglomerates, states and municipalities with their hands out is truly disgusting, when it's not alarming.

Re: Wesley Clark in N.C. for Obama

I attended the event in Sanford and, yes, people who care about the state of our Union and our place in the world wanted to hear the thoughts of the former commander of NATO forces in Europe. Over 50 people crammed into a small coffee shop in downtown Sanford at 8 o'clock in the morning (standing room only) to hear why he supports Barack Obama for President and they were not disappointed. A number of the attendees were veterans of our armed forces, from former junior enlisted soldiers to retired colonels. General Clark explained national security, not just from a military perspective, but also from diplomatic and ecomonic viewpoints. He was generous to Republicans who have demonstrated less than honorable discourse in pursuit of the presidency. As he said, Republicans are our friends and family and should be treated as such. The only hand I see offered from McCain-Palin supporters generally has a finger extended. The event lasted about an hour with a question and answer session at the end.

It was a great event in the heart of Carolina and General Clark could not have been more generous with his time or support of Barack Obama. As a recently retred colonel with 28 years of service, I felt honored to be there.

I drove down from Cary to see him in Sanford this morning. He was impressive. He used no notes when he spoke and answered questions ranging from economics to, of course, international issues. It was interesting to see how many veterans of all ages were there. They sure didn't like John Macain.

I thought the fund was supposed to help farmers not politically connected architects.
