WHEN will we as NCians be able to see ONLINE how our taxes are being spent in NC? Many OTHER states ALREADY have this available. Is NC BEHIND the curve YET AGAIN ??????????????

I wonder if she will ever meet with the people or just the unions? And where was she last week? She hasn't gotten one penny yet of the so-called stimulus money and is already asking for more. We need to cut off the spigot.

Political Junkie--you are a great questioner. You probably remember when the main stream media asked the tough questions. Fair and Balanced should be the motto of all media. I bet if Perdue were a republican, she would be treated differently. Why should Obama be treated differently than Clarence Thomas?

Unions are one of the causes of this recession. They are also one of the prime reasons that businesses contract ofr the manufacture of their products off shore. The find it cheaper and more efficient To get the owrk done their predicitble schedules and predictable quality are something they can depend on from nonunion wrkers off shore. What does Beverly plan to talk about? or is she there to ask what she can do to make the Unions more comfortable in NC??

She just got her son a cushy job - ethics training coming a little late?

Is she going to pay for her State/Carolina tickets or are they a gift from the university looking for a favor in return?

Are her meetings with the AFL-CIO, State Employees' Union and Teachers' Union to negotiate the payoffs for the $4 million plus in campaign cash she received from organized labor?

And, by the way, where the heck was she last week and did she find any of the 14,000 lost probationers at her vacation destination?

Please do not start reagrding Perdue and corruption. The N&O already know this governor would and has sold her soul to get this job. So just stop. What is amazing is the lack of coverage regarding the recent obama stumbles with richardson and now his nominee for treasury. The silence has been deafening regarding the chosen one's illegal alien aunt and what has happened to his brother in Kenya? Ya know! The one living in a dirt floor hut. This newspaper just will not take on the tough stories when they may involve someone from the left. They beat the heck out of Sheriff Bizzell but where are the stories regarding details on the murders in Raleigh last year. One small statement with no details. Ya know why? 90% of the murderers were black and many were already on parole. Don't want to make the outgoing and incoming governors look too bad.

But what if the fed money comes with strings attached - like NC can't divert funds to silly wastes of money? That might screw-up our whole system. "We are doing our best to cope" indicates that our fine state has achieved our best performance. I might suggest that "more money" doesn't seem to be the issue, nor the answer.

On the other hand, DOT has removed all the "Exit 343 Furniture" yard signs from I-40 again - so some credit's due. Odd that nobody's noted the need for state auditors and independent oversight groups... sure could use some big-footed Les Merritt types (his shoes are going to be near impossible to fill.)
