Re: Poll: Obama 48, Clinton 39

I read this today.

Quote:
Voters have been running from Barack Obama since the Jeremiah Wright scandal erupted. A Zogby poll conducted this week in Indiana ahead of its key primary next Tuesday found that 21% of likely Democratic primary voters said they were less likely to vote for Obama as a result of his former pastor's statements. But why, exactly, are these and other voters fleeing? The answer could make the difference in Obama's chances to win the nomination and to pull out election victory in November. And it could tell us something about the state of racial politics in America.

There is a very small subset of voters who are sympathetic to Wright's expressions of respect for Louis Farakhan, his condemnation of America's 60-year bipartisan approach to Israel and his suspicions about U.S. involvement in the creation of the AIDS virus. The vast majority thinks his views on those issues are at least wrong, if not outright offensive. But what conclusion do those voters draw about Obama as a result? Do they imagine that Obama believes the same things? Or do they think Obama disagrees with them, but question his credibility because of his belated disavowal of the preacher who holds them?
Quote:
In a survey of 800 likely voters, Rasmussen finds that 58% think Obama has denounced Wright because it's politically convenient, while 30% say he did so because he was outraged (13% say they're not sure).

The question now for Obama is which is worse — people thinking you agree with Wright, or people not believing your high-minded explanations for associating with him.
So the Options are do you not trust Obama because he makes bad decisions, choices, is ill informed and stupid, and couldn't manage the country, or do you not vote for Obama because he is intelligent, calculating, deceptive, scheming, racist, devious elitist, sly and hides his weaknesses and would totally destroy the country and democracy as we now know it?

Click on the link for a lot more to the article

I have been calling voters in North Carolina for three day, a total of two hours a day. I have found a total of 9 Obama supporters! The Hillary supporters have been 4 times that number!

It's probably a lot closer than that. These polls may not cover parts of Sampson County, where folks are known to "holler in" their choices of candidates at election time.

How do you trust a person who lies about sniper fire when there was no sniper fire, to tell you the truth about the big issues? How do you trust a person who is willing to let you keep $30.00 at the gas pump, and believes you're too dumb to figure out that the $30.00 you keep is going to cost this country thousands and thousands of jobs? (And one of those jobs could be yours.) And though I firmly believe sexism is wrong, I also wonder how the countries who already hate the U.S. and don't have alot of respect for the idea of a woman being in charge are going to feel about us if Clinton is elected - would that make us even more of a target? Clinton is a poor choice for alot of reasons and Obama is a good choice for alot of reasons...I can trust a man who looks at the long term effects of a situation like the gas holiday and decides to take the unpopular stand because it's in the best interest of the American people...I can trust a man who doesn't do the politically selfish thing and oust his pastor to make himself look good, but instead waits to see what direction that pastor is really taking and then decides whether or not to continue that relationship...I can trust a man who thought about the consequences of voting yes for this war, and UNLIKE Clinton, voted the unpopular NO. In other words - I can trust a man who doesn't rush to judgement. Yes, if there is a 3:00am phone call at the whitehouse, the person whom I will trust to look at the BIG picture and do what is safe and right for my family is Mr. Obama! (As opposed to someone else who is so busy trying to LOOK tough, and actually is just being reactionary.) We are a "blue-collar" family who is struggling like most people are today, and I believe Obama has experienced some of these same struggles in his early years and understands the difficulties. I doubt Clinton has ever struggled financially a day in her life - but if she claims she has, should we believe her, or wonder if her memory is just failing her like it did regarding the sniper fire?

If people had "seen" Wright from the start, Obama would not have been in this election. He would not have been in the top three in Iowa. His past performance is therefore invalidated and, hopefully, voters with common sense will give a victory to Clinton so that the Democratic party can start planning its strategy for the fall election.
The "booing" mentioned in the recent Democratic party dinner typifies the tone that immature Obama supporters regularly use in their blogs. The demographic group that will swing toward Clinton is black women who are realizing more and more that they are in an under-represented MAJORITY, that of women.
