Concerned53, can you back up your claim that someone altered the files? Such an accusation was never in any article I read.

Hope Thaxton wins her lawsuit, gets her job back and back pay. Perdue had sleazy Easley to learn from and she has learned well. She will be ousted in the 2012 election and will then be fully investigated and charged appropriately at that time. Hold on to your hats cause Bev is no better than Sleazy. I am a democrat but I sure did not vote for Bev.

Perdue's ethics still in question

Oh, I feel much better now given that we have a democrat as the new state auditor.

Keep in mind that Perdue's legal counsel, was not only given access in private, but if I recall correctly, made changes to financial statements in private so that possible conflicts or mis-statements would NOW be in compliance. Both Perdue and Polk knew exactly what they were doing.

This is just status quo for Easley and Perdue but we let Beverly get away with it. Perhaps because she is in office?

Bev re: Sewell- I know nothing! I saw nothing!

Two thoughts regarding the only quote I have heard/read from Beverly regarding her & NC's problems with Sewell: (see below)

"I actually did not know he was going to resign, but I respect his decision and applaud the fact that he did resign if that's what he thinks is best for him."

- She expects us to believe that she knew nothing about whether or not he was going to resign in advance (she probably forced it!). Just like after the Sewell thing blew up last week, she asked an aide in front of the press, "do we have a fundraiser at Sewell's this week?" Does she take us as fools? Yes!
- She accepted Sewell's resignation as "what was best for him" What about that it was probably the best thing to have happen for North Carolina's citizens given the cloud over the DOT? She can't say that as that would imply that Beverly & Easley were stained by association.

Fess up and admit your full association with Sewell! You will feel better for it!

Someone should call Les Merritt. I heard he has the balls to investigate things the Ethics Commission is too chicken to handle.

This should be investigated. Is there no accountability for the missuse of taxpayer money at all? These political cronies use the state coffers like a teller machine. How much more state money will be wasted under the slack oversight of hack politicans like Easley, Wright, and Perdue.

(oops I forgot there WASNT an 'ethics' commission in the Jim Black daze!)

Does anyone know if a citizen can engage the State Ethics Commission involving the coverup of a NCHP assault investigation, whose results are 'discretionary' to disclose? Need to discover the cover soon...

Bev, returning Sewell's funds or not?

Whew, so you think you no longer have to worry about Sewell? No way as we have heard nothing from you as to how much in total contributions were raised by Sewell and if you are going to return them. Gee, you might have to find other dirty money from other questionable fundraisers so that you can continue to run your negative ads.

Why have we heard nothing from you?

what about the cost of the project???? $375,000 if I remember correctly. Poor taxpayers can't catch a break. I think Sewell is a great person to endorse "Bev" more corruption without interuption!!!!

Their should be investigations and he should have to pay a fine for the earning profit due to misused taxpayers money. Bev should admit that she is wrong for supporting this pay to play system and return all contributions involving Mr. Sewell.

I dont care about Perdue, trying to drag her into this particular situation is silly. The hinderance of this investigation by the Ethics Office... that I find deeply disturbing, almost as disturbing as the events being investigated. Keep it up Les Merritt :)

Oh pulease. "A lot of problems with the Ethics Commission revolve around Beverly"?

What constitutes "a lot of" in your world?

How is it her fault that an attorney, whose purpose was to correct a filing (sooo sinister!), arrived when someone else was using the regular room that is used for such examinations? Did she RIG that, Mr. Braintrust?

How is it Beverly Perdue's fault that this deviation from regular protocol was recorded by one person and erased by another? Ya really think there was a phone call with Bev cupping her mouth as she whispered into the receiver, "Oh MY GOD, my attorney was looking at a file and no one watched to see if he used white-out or left eraser smudges! Remove all evidence of his presence!"

Take off your foil beanie. Try to focus on the real world, just long enough to imagine how it could possibly be worth a nickel to her campaign to interfere with the Ethics Commission squabble?

Or, stay up there in outer-space with the lamest concept of a criminal conspiracy I've heard since Crest was in league with Satan to flouridate the water.
