iwannab4change, I don't think he is a Jihadist, but I do think he is more inclined to support Palestinian and Arab positions than Israel, that he is just saying what he knows he has to say to the pro-Israel forces in the democratic party so he can get elected. Google Ali Abunimah and you will find out a lot about his support for the Palestinians.

I also don't think he is a real Christian in spite of his claim that he prays to Jesus every day. He doesn't believe that Jesus is the way to salvation and said so. He doesn't believe in hell. He said that he wouldn't want his girls "punished" with a baby if they had sex out of wedlock.

If you read what he has said about his faith, It almost seems like he has taken his mother's faith in a power greater than ourselves and named it Jesus, as though all gods were the same god. Here's a good link.

nc4hill, There are other instances where people say Obama does things just because he is a politician. Go back and listen to Obama himself on the Compassion Forum where in response to a question about his faith, instead of talking about his faith he said his "entire trajectory" was to get democratic politicians into church so they could talk with all those religious people whose votes are affected by their religion. Well he's got us talking about religion all right! LOL

Google Ali Abunimah, one of Obama's Palestinian-American buddies who has known him for a long time in Chicago. He was not surprised by Obama's changing from pro-palestinian to pro-Israel: "He is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keeps him in power. Palestinian-Americans are in the same position as civil libertarians who watched with dismay as Obama voted to reauthorize the USA Patriot Act, or immigrant rights advocates who were horrified as he voted in favor of a Republican bill to authorize the construction of a 700-mile fence on the border with Mexico."

Saw clip of Wright on Bill Moyers, what a disaster. It was like: "Clean up in Aisle 6."
Remember Goolsbee telling the Canadain gov't that Obama's tough talk was just political posturing? Remember his top foreign policy advisor Samantha Powers saying Obama's withdrawal plans fro Iraq are just campaign rhetoric?

Well, here's what Wright had to say:

"He's a politician and I'm a pastor. We speak to two different audiences. And he says what he has to say as a politician and I say what I have to say as a pastor, those are two different worlds. I do what I do, he does what politicians do so what happened in Philadelphia, where he had to respond to the sound bites, he responded as a politician."

I don't know of a bigger slam against Barack Obama, considering the entire message and rationale of his candidacy, than to call him just "a politician" doing what "a politician" does. The implication, of course, is that any criticisms of Wright that Obama may have expressed in his speech, oh he didn't really mean them, he was just doing what politicians do. In other words: he's no better than all the rest of them. That his big speech on race was just a clever distraction from the real issue: judgment.

Investigations have shown that Obama's father and stepfather were devout Islamics. Both faithfully practiced their religion. His stepfather, who had a much greater impact on Obama's upbringing, was a radical Wahabbi Muslim. Obama's mother married Lolo Soetoro, a Wahabbi extremist who lived in Indonesia. When Obama's mother moved to Indonesia - before she married her second Muslim husband - she enrolled her son at St. Francis Assisi Catholic School. He was enrolled as a Muslim because he was a Muslim.

I advise you to use judgment. As you know Rush Limbaugh's "operation chaos", Hannity, O’Reilly, Hillary and other nuts in tandem with McCain used ardent,covert, race baiting tactics; then and now. Particularly the ad that is being run in North Carolina. You must let those nuts know you are more intelligent.

First of all, Rev Wright’s name is not on the ballot. Cnn’s political ticker has the entire speech posted by Roland Martin. This will allow you to determine if Rev Wright’s theology advocates separatism.
Secondly, Bill Ayer’s name too is not on the ballot. Sean Hannity has done a pathetic job of linking what was only a statement made years ago to 9/11. His statement from years ago had nothing to do with 9/11.
Thirdly, if sitting on a foundation which is for the betterment of the community equates terrorism, it’s unintelligent. The same applies to living in the same neighborhood, and your children going to school with Ayer’s.
Fourthly, Tony Rezko is the criminal, not Obama; he only bought a house from Rezko.
Finally, I employ you to look at facts, instead of covert, ardent, race baiting and fear mongering.

See Obama for who he is. Truthfully, Senator Clinton has many shady connections too. Republicans don't want Barack; they want Hillary so they kick her lies and corruption to the curb; factor in her negatives and you will see more of the same.

I don't have any problem at all with anyone of the Muslim faith as long as they are NOT EXTREMIST MILITANT RADICAL MUSLIMS INTENT TO KILL OR MAIM US IN THE NAME OF THEIR MISREPRESENTED "ALLAH." "In the commercial, a narrator says, “For 20 years, Barack Obama sat in his pew, listening to his pastor,” before a video clip that has become infamous at this point of the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., who was Mr. Obama’s pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ, is played.
The narrator then declares Mr. Obama “too extreme for North Carolina” and attacks Beverly Eaves Perdue, the lieutenant governor, and Richard H. Moore, the state treasurer, for endorsing Mr. Obama. Both are Democrats running for governor."
I just have two questions. One, if Obama is “too extreme for North Carolina”, why isn't he too extreme for the entire nation? What is so redeeming about refusing to disown a pastor who is unpatriotic, anti-semitic, and racist? Second, if North Carolina politicians are being chastised for endorsing Obama, shouldn't the superdelegates endorsing Obama be chastised by the entire nation?

If you compare, she has a lot to do with support to help build Bush’s Empire by voting for the unjust war in Iraq; along with Bush's endeavor, particularly Iran, and other places on the globe and equating Obama's speech at the DNC of 2004 as dishonest and disingenuous; that doesn’t sound much like love of one’s country. In Obama’s case Barack has sustained Rush Limbaugh's "operation chaos", Hannity, O’Reilly, Hillary and other nuts in tandem with McCain.
