Good. I'm still not convinced that this group didn't knowingly violate the law. Either they did knowingly violate the law or they were acting exhibiting a level of stupidity that deserves penalty.

...after the cesspool of sleaze, criminality and corruption we've endured under Bush and the Neocons, Hillary & Co may think they're morally superior...when by a higher standard, they wouldn't be so far above. In other words, the Bushies have lowered the bar and brutalized the populace so much that anything seems better than Bush & Rove tactics.

I'm not sure I see much difference between push-polling and these negative lying attack ads. They are both misleading and intended to persuade the vulnerable. I think the best antidote is to educate people to be suspicious of any polling that appears to promote one candidate over the other & if it feels creepy, hang up.

The thing that's morally indefensible about Clinton's people is that they will use and profit from the sleazy strategies of others. They may not have initiated it, but they'll take advantage of it.

I am an African American female, 57 years of age. At this point in my life, I have become very very upset with a portion of the representatives of our state. We forget our history of differences against people of color within this state. I thought that if we could help enough of the citizens of this state to succeed through jobs and education then we would begin to think in a more "progressive" way. Instead, we want to bring up the old and still current feelings of animosity against people of color in spite of the successes of many. Also, the people of color have brought a great amount of economy to this state. However, we continue to allow the backwardness of out state to show to people of America. This backwardness continues to put a lease on our economy and the growth of this state. We want to have a state to be proud of and not a state to be ashame of because of this backwards mindset.

I would call Obama's choice of friends extremely disturbing. If you aren't familiar with Barack Obama's circle of friends, click and view. I think that you will understand why the teflon is wearing thin on Obama.

Re: NAACP wants robo calls investigated

Jeremiah Wright isn't the only racist skeleton in Obama's closet, read what Mrs. Obama wrote and said about white people. Maybe the NAACP should file a complaint against Michelle Obama also because racism is racism, no exceptions!

In her senior thesis at Princeton, Michelle Obama, the wife of Barack
Obama
stated that America was a nation founded on "crime and hatred".
Moreover,
she stated that whites in America were "ineradicably racist". The
1985
thesis, titled "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community" was
written under her maiden name, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson.

Michelle Obama stated in her thesis that to "Whites at Princeton, it
often
seems as if, to them, she will always be Black first..." However, it
was
reported by a fellow black classmate, "If those "Whites at Princeton"
really
saw Michelle as one who always would "be Black first," it seems that
she
gave them that impression".

Most alarming is Michelle Obama's use of the terms "Separatist " and
"integrationist" when describing the views of black people.

Mrs. Obama clearly identifies herself with a "Separatist" view of
race.

"By actually working with the Black lower class or within their
communities
as a result of their ideologies, a Separatist may better
understand the
desperation of their situation and feel more hopeless about a
resolution as
opposed to an integrationist who is ignorant to their plight."

Obama writes that the path she chose by attending Princeton would
likely
lead to her "further integration and/or assimilation into a white
cultural
and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the
periphery of
society; never becoming a full participant."

Michelle Obama clearly has a chip on her shoulder.
Not only does she see separate black and white societies in America,
but she
elevates black over white in her world.

[]

Here is another passage that is uncomfortable and ominous in meaning:

"There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black
community, I am
obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and
future
resources to benefit the black community first and foremost. "

What is Michelle Obama planning to do with her future resources if
she's
first lady that will elevate black over white in America?

The following passage appears to be a call to arms for affirmative
action
policies that could be the hallmark of an Obama administration.

"Predominately white universities like Princeton are socially and
academically designed to cater to the needs of the white students
comprising
the bulk of their enrollments."

[]

The conclusion of her thesis is alarming.

Michelle Obama's poll of black alumni concludes that other black
students at
Princeton do not share her obsession with blackness. But rather than
celebrate, she is horrified that black alumni identify with our common
American culture more than they value the color of their skin. "I
hoped that
these findings would help me conclude that despite the high degree of
identification with whites as a result of the educational and
occupational
path that black Princeton alumni follow, the alumni would still
maintain a
certain level of identification with the black community. However,
these
findings do not support this possibility."

Is it no wonder that most black alumni ignored her racist
questionnaire?
Only 89 students responded out of 400 who were asked for input.

Michelle Obama does not look into a crowd of Obama supporters and see
Americans. She sees black people and white people eternally
conflicted with
one another.

The thesis provides a trove of Mrs. Obama's thoughts and world view
seen
through a race-based prism.
This is a very divisive view for a potential first lady that would do
untold
damage to race relations in this country in a Barack Obama
administration.

[]

Michelle Obama's intellectually refined racism should give all
Americans
pause for deep concern.

Now maybe she's changed, but she sure sounds like someone with an axe
to
grind with America. Will the press let Michelle get a free pass over
her
obviously racist comments about American whites? I am sure that it
will.
But it shouldn't.

Serious voters know how to register. Black women are going to settle the race in North Carolina and I think a significant number of them realize that they are in an under-represented MAJORITY.
I was watching Larry King's interview of Sidney Poitier during which King tried to ring a backing for Obama out of Poitier. Poitier talked past it but when he got to the subject of his mother, Poitier had a great deal to say. He could not praise enough the wisdom and the sense of the world that she showed.
Let's get a woman in, one who has worked for civil rights throughout her long career. Let's try some female hormones after all these years of testerone.

I agree. There's no way such an experienced group of political operatives could be this clumsy TWELVE times. They were supposedly targeting unregistered, single, female voters with the "Lamont Williams" voice calling many male, married, and registered voters. Women's Voices Women Vote is led by individuals with decades of political experience, and now they say they didn't think about when the primary was? How can any self-respecting journalist swallow this?

If it’s not an intentional attempt at voter disenfranchisement, then I have to conclude that the folks running Women's Voices Women Vote (and/or MHSC, outreach consultants to Clinton & WVWV (hmmm)) are simply massively incompetent. This isn’t very likely looking at their resumes, but I’d be convinced that it was true if key staff get fired over this incredible screw-up. Does anyone think that will happen?

I hope Cooper throws the book at them and that the media will take a break from coverage of Rev. Wright, gas prices, and flag pins to inform voters of this pressing issue that may well affect the outcome of our state and national elections.

please read the exclusive investigative piece from the institute for southern studies:

http://southernstudies.org/facingsouth/2008/04/facing-south-exclusive-dc-nonprofit.asp

this needs to be headline news in NC.

this group is trying to spin as if they have merely made some mistakes, but what exists is a pattern, across 11 states, of making extremely deceptive calls which serve to disenfranchise the recipients of the disinformation.

while this women's voting group (which has 501 c3 status and a hefty budget and significant ties to -- who else? -- hillary clinton) ostensibly seeks to register women, the complaints from several states reveal, instead, a pattern of targeting the calls toward african americans. hmm.

benign and extreme incompetence seem to compose their veneer of plausible deniability, but how are we to believe that this pattern, which has been repeated since february (the Virginia calls) is purely accidental? why would a voter outreach program for females enlist an african american sounding male voice identified as 'Lamont Williams' to make the calls? and why do their caller IDs show up blank, in direct violation of NC laws?

if this is what it appears to be, it is absolutely despicable and the perpetrators should be prosecuted.
