Isaac,

I tend to like anyone who agrees with me..... or thinks that Mickey Mouse votes. And when Dan told me he saw some rodents in the voting booth, well, he's got to be an ok kinda guy. Some of these guys don't seem to have the requisite sense of humor to survive politics.... but Dan and you have passed the test. Being a true southern conservative (the definition being a man who married the only daughter of an incredibly rich man) means that, like a rat, I know when to get off a sinking ship. Now if the ship doesn't sink then I will merely say that I was going for help.

Politics is all about surviving........and telling a few lies when necessary or when opportune or when it's what they want to hear or if it's a day with a vowel in it.

Domewatcher or dumbwatcher or peeping Tom.....it's all the same.

Domewatcher,

It almost sounds as though you don't trust Mickey Mouse. When has Mickey ever led you to think he be involved with anything nefarious? Never, that's when.

Second, I have some questions about this siting that Dan claims. While Mickey's rep is pretty clean, have you met Dan? The guy's a wreck! He failed to mention that he "saw" Mickey and Co. within minutes of polishing off a bottle of rum (yes, rum).

Think about it. Disney or Dan? Who do you believe?

Here again the liberals are missing the point! Not seeing the rats for the mice or the vermin for the varmints. Look at the undisputed truth in this series of posts……..look no further than “Under the Dome!”

First, Pat wrote: “Mickey Mouse is not going to show up at the polls on election day.” Then Gercohen wrote: “No one is going to have ID for Mickey Mouse.” And just his morning Dan wrote: “However, I do think the Republicans are onto something about all this voter fraud, while at an early vote site this a.m. there were several large symmetrically eared rodents in front of me trying to vote.”

Two posters said all this stuff about Mickey Mouse was phony and just this morning, Dan, who is no doubt a truthful and great American, testifies to seeing someone or something which sounds a great deal like Mickey standing in the line to vote! And possibly brought Minnie and several of the kids and grandkids with him.

Are you people blind to what is going on? Look at the facts. It is irrefutable facts such as these which prove why us conservatives are intellectually superior. We can smell a rat a mile away, especially if he is one of our relatives. We have more proof about Mickey voting than we did about all those weapons of mass destruction. And you thought we were crazy about that too……..DUH!!!

I rest my case.

Isaac, I appreciate any post that works in a good use of bloviate. That is awesome. However, I do think the Republicans are onto something about all this voter fraud, while at an early vote site this a.m. there were several large symmetrically eared rodents in front of me trying to vote, greatly retarded the civic process, curses to ACORN.

GOP's ACORN MYTH

Rapidtransit -- You're on a very, very slow train.

How can you have read the reports about what ACORN is and what actions constituted the fraud and still be so clueless about what DID NOT occur? Are ya just not READING?

The GOP is desperately trying to blow up this pitiful, minimal instances of some lazy idiots using phone books to fill out forms into an excuse for McCain's blowing the election.

This cheesey, sleazy GOP bloviating is no better than Palin's mystifying denials of what the ethics report said about her behavior. There it is, right in the report, that the woman abused her office and she calls it vindication. I suppose Palin is counting on people not reading the report, but simply taking her word that "abuser" means "reformer," just as the GOP knows that people won't read the actual news reports on ACORN but will instead gobble up the GOP's creative interpretations.

But maybe the Republicans have learned, given the gullibility of the voters after the first four years of Bush, that if you say "war is peace, "white is black," and "spam is steak" over and over and over, people will eat it up.

The last poster stated the following:

"The canvasser is actually not trying to influence the election in any way."

How can you know? I do not know how many canvassers that ACORN employs but I cannot fathom that at least one of them might be partial to a particular candidate. My personal belief is that "most" of the canvassers do have a particular candidate in mind when they "target" potential voters with the gift of a cigarette or a dollar.

But then again, like you, I can't know.

Mr. Bartlett was quoted:

"It doesn’t have anything to do with them supporting or opposing any cause," he said.

I wonder how many people really believe this. ACORN is one of those organizations which is exempt from any type oversight because they are "pure as the driven snow."

I don't think it's greed, it's manipulation.

I've got a newsflash for everybody.......those who cast the ballots decide nothing. Those who COUNT the ballots decide everything. Yes, Joseph Stalin said this and he was communist, but in light of events during the past decade, perhaps he knew what he was talking about.

Republican Dirty Tricks 2004:

In Nevada, Voter Outreach of America is accused by former employees of shredding the registration forms of thousands of Democrats; in West Virginia, Voter Outreach of America employees say they were instructed to mislead voters into registering Republican and voting for Bush; in Oregon, yet another swing state, the state attorney general has opened a criminal investigation into allegations that Sproul's firm, which is Voter Outreach of America's parent company, was involved in intentionally destroying or discarding voter registration forms signed by Democrats. According to OpenSecrets.org, Sproul's firm received $125,000 this year from the Republican National Committee for voter registration and another $500,000 for "political consulting."

Having served as a "designated poll watcher" at numerous elections over the past 20 years .... the numerous attempts at voter fraud and vote manipulations are not exaggerated. They are quite real. What is taking place now is simply more blatant than in the past for rather obvious reasons.

Of course Bartlett is going to defend his office. Jim Black defended his too. Any attempts to investigate these shenanigans will be stonewalled until after Nov 4 then conveniently dismissed.

voter fraud vs registration fraud

In North Carolina, what happens if you make up a name and address on a voter registration form? If you make up a drivers license number, it's not going to match the DMV database (or if you leave that blank) and it defaults to the Social Security database. If you make up a SSN number (or leave it blank), it's not going to match, it goes to the third level: Voter has to present ID at the polls. No one is going to have ID for Mickey Mouse, or any of the fake people dreamed up by the canvasser trying to earn money. The canvasser is actually not trying to influence the election in any way.

Not to excuse the felony of fraudulently forging a voter registration application under oath, this is extremely unlikely to result in anyone being able to vote because of this.

Also, there are other safeguards when the voter card comes back undeliverable, but I won't even get to that.

If a real person registers 72 times at their address, this is not going to result in more than one vote. If a real person registers 72 times at a fake address, it is either going to result in one vote or no vote.

What the voter registration fraud mainly does is burden county boards of elections at their busiest time with dealing with useless verifications and mailings.

Yes, it is a felony.

There actually has been 708,000+ new voters this year, not 467,000. The 467,000 is net of cancellations for moves out of state, cancellations for moves from one county to another within the State, deaths, felony convictions, and voluntary cancellations.
