Re: Perdue urges quick action on green

Why do I feel like an idiot for not embracing all of this green. Why are we going to make housing less affordable to satisfy the enviros and not do anything to lower utility bills with any significance and raise utility costs with a cap and trade bill. Duke Power is about to invest mucho rate payer dollars on wind mills in Pamilico Sound to appease a small group of wind proponents even though we all know it will never be cost effective. I just do not understand the Governor pushing for all of these so called green jobs and I do not know what they are except for more college professors taking gov't money for more studies. I guess someoe will explain it to me someday. I am sure it is part of that political correctness stuff.

How bout a REAL NC Jobs 'program' that OUTLAWS employers from hiring ANY ILLEGALs to work for them?

Re: Scandal follows Oblinger

I could understand if someone had a unique talent but also had a "smudge" on his resume from some indiscretion out of the past .... that had been followed by a reasonable period of notable achievement ..... BUT Oblinger's "indiscretion" is still a steaming pile of cr*p.

He was fully aware that he was part of a conspiracy to circumvent a very clear policy. He made a conscious decision to take part in that conspiracy.

I could see him joining a faculty somewhere and contributing .... but to be given Academic CEO status so soon after being "caught red-handed" is ridiculous.

New Mexico .... have you no shame?

Nobody know about unfinished business better than Mr. Bowles - remember a little unfinished business from the Clinton years named Osama Bin Laden, (embassy attacks/USS Cole, WTC 1)

Sounds like to me that most of the "work" left for him to do involves reversing every single decision he's made since he got the job.

Re: Audit: Pay for M. Easley 'excessive'

Why release in August an audit that was completed in January? Read the article in the N&O and you realize there is something fishy with all of this, as usual.

Also, click on Beth Wood above and tell me she hasn't spent too much time in a tanning both.

Goes to show you can't legislate ethics any more than morality, and it doesn't take a team of lawyers to determine what's ethical any more than it does to determine what is immoral. The current crop of state leadership should be ashamed, and do whatever it takes to clean house. Camelot is dead, it only remains to be seen whether the coming revolution will be peaceful.

Something does not pass the smell test here. Of course, most things involving Easley, Rand, Wood, etc. don't. The fact that our auditor is crying about an audit being picked apart is funny. Don't most people that get audited complain? Come on......

Get Tony Rand's name OFF the NC Real Estate Commission HQ on Navajo Drive.
It makes Brokers sick when they arrive for pleasant business.

If Boss Hawg could get nailed in this it would be BIG. Rand is as slick as c*ap thru a Christmas goose.

I'd pay cash money to see that arrogant walrus hauled off in chains.

Please state the statute that designates audits be filtered through state legislators, is Tony Rand specifically assigned to this duty, or is this simply what it sounds and smells like?

Wasn't a new governor going to be all about the anti-corruption? That sure turned out to be a bag of nothing.
