So where is the story?

The problem with so many newspaper "blogs" is that they are not blogs at all. They are orts, observations, and bits and pieces of stories that are not good enough to make it in the paper. And there's a reason for that.

There's no "there" there.

Write us back when there's news, Ryan.

The son of the governor has a job as a lobbyist with the state's biggest and most politically connected law firm, yet neither he nor it has said who his clients are or what he does. I think that's a worthy subject.

Don't worry. The House will start debating the smoking ban soon, and I'll move on...

I'm not sure I get the reason for the dozen or so posts on this subject. Unless the point of all this is to accuse Mr. Perdue of being granted a job with little to no work based solely on his familial relationship to the governor in an attempt by Womble to curry illegal/unethical favor with said governor...then either come out and make the accusation or leave the man alone. Just b/c you have a famous last name doesn't give everyone an excuse to stalk you.

A federal judge found both Garrett and Emmett Perdue were not at fault in that accident.

Maybe this guy should just go back to driving boats drunk and crashing them, while nearly killing girlfriends...or was that his well-healed brother?

That's the way NC democrats have always monopolized this state's government through the political machine they control now and have controlled for decades. Don't let that slow southern drawl fool you. These good ole' boys and girls are slicker than snot on a door knob. Chicago, Illinois and/or New Orleans ain't got nothing on us, when it comes to corruption and back room deals. Nothing new here, as far as connections and methods go. Look at the way they get legislation and projects passed on through. Reference: The "Education" Lottery. Only the names and faces change. The new crooks move in as the old crooks die off.

You praise the son's of G Bush Sr. and the jobs he got them but you get all nasty when this young man gets to work with one of our states best Governors. I bet this kid can chew a pretzel without choking.

the political establishment in NC is cronyistic and nepotistic, and needs to be replaced.

Typical. This is how the neo-marxist elites work. Oh and by that, I mean, demopublicans.

Face it, fellow Americans, if you're not connected then you're just a slave. Now let me go back to pulling the plow.
