yea, easley is a real good spokesman. He would be a great one for "the corrupt governors of america"..He would make the top three of all time for corruption. North carolina should be proud to have elected him two terms.

I want to say that free community college is NOT FREE. The taxpayers in that community or the state would be paying for it with HIGHER TAXES. That is one ridiculous pander from Bev Perdue and her Alliance for North Carolina. This group just changed it's name 2 weeks ago and did fail to make disclosures only to be bailed out by the State Board of Elections.
Bev Perdue is one hypocrite on these issues and a failure as Lt. Governor. For over 7 years she has failed to improve any area that fell under her office. The big one being Education. The drop out rates and failures of our schools have continued year after year while she serves on the State Board of Education. It is time to bring in a leader with solutions and someone who will actually get out there and work with us all.

Wow, what a surprise! The teachers unions will never support someone who would make them give us the bang we deserve for for our buck. They want more bucks thrown into the pot to keep the same old broken down system running as is. Problem is most teachers pat themselve on the back instead of kicking the butts of those who can't teach or just like a lazy status quo. What we need is more administrators as well as NC or Federal Govt. and Union folks telling us what we need.

We're already there with high school "early college" programs at community colleges (except that high school students are discovering that third level textbooks cost an arm and a leg). The free tuition for community college has usually been discussed in the context of motivating high school students to graduate, especially those that may not be attracted to or have aptitude for universities. To my knowledge McCrory wants higher graduation rates and more community college education. Saying no to free tuition is saying no to that for some students. He is premature in slamming that door shut.

McCrory is 100% correct on this issue, nothing is FREE. Whatever happened to building character by WORKING to achieve the goal of a college education. Community college is a great thing and plenty of financial aid is available to those in need. So, why should NC taxpayers pick up the tab for a FREE community college education for high school graduates. That is the sole responsibility of the student and the parents. We already provide 12 years of public instruction FREE, not to mention programs like "SmartStart", "More at Four" and free lunches. Beverly Perdue is pandering as usual by offering freebies to voters. Free lunches, free education, free college educations, free healthcare,...where does it end....free cars and TV's??....don't stop, Bev, until we are all bankrupt from paying higher and higher taxes.

NC could really use some common sense in the governors office.
