The Highway Patrol apparently has joined Hugh Hefner and Anna Nicole Smith's late-husband among octogenarians who were having too much fun. So it must have seemed to patrol leaders like a good time to reflect on past, um, accomplishments.uncil and Federal races. People actually care about that.

Trooper White guilty of Sexual Harassment?

Why can't this be considered a unique, but possible case of sexual harassment in the workplace on the part of White as perhaps he leveraged his authority over Trooper Perdue to demand sex with Perdue's wife. It could have been difficult for Trooper Perdue to turn down White's request, if in fact, Perdue wanted a future in the SHP.

How convenient that Beverly is denying public access into the SHP investigation of the missing travel records. Given that she has already, after the fact, admitted that she too was taking illegal flights and inappropriately using cars during the recent campaign, perhaps she was on Easley's, or her own illegal flights in 2005. Tell us what you are hiding Beverly!

We need a truly independent investigation and not one led by Beverly's "friend", SHP head Randy Glover.

How stupid does Reuben Young think we are? How stupid does he think the N&O's Dan Kane, who wrote the original story about the investigation, is? The answer is, Reuben thinks we're idiots, but we're not. Come on, Reuben, are you saying it was okay to "delete records to clear up space," which was what was in the investigative report that you used to decide to send Trooper Melvin back to active duty - overseeing the department's computers? But, it wasn't okay if the administrative assistant said there wasn't a space problem. Young, you are an attorney and you should know better. It is a violation of state law to destroy public records, period. The investigative report showed that's what occurred. You just thought you could continue the coverup. Remember, Reuben, the coverup is always worse than the crime. Are you still working for Mike Easley? If you are, and that sure appears to be the case, Bev should show you the door.

Reuben Young's ties to Easley & Perdue

We should have no confidence that Reuben Young will be fair, thorough or impartial for the following reasons:
- He was hired by and served six years under Attorney General Mike Easley. When Easley was elected governor, he named Young deputy and then chief legal counsel.
- In March of 2008, he wrote a letter to an attorney for The News & Observer saying there was "absolutely no evidence" that members of Easley's staff had instructed state agencies to destroy e-mails sent by the governor's office.
- When a state employee, In October of 2008, he donated $2,000 to Perdue's campaign for governor (he now works for her on her cabinet)

If you believe that Young will be thorough, fair and impartial, I have some real estate that Mike Easley owns on the coast that I would like to sell you. Come on, let's don't believe what the democrats are trying to pull on us.

Gov. 'Dumpling' should go into stand up comedy. Nothing happens quickly in state government unless its a cover up.

The NC SHP can't investigate itself with any credibility. Look how the DOC 'investigated' how Timothy Helms 'fell down' while in their custody.

Travel records

There may be a simple explanation as to why the travel records are missing. It may be that there are no travel records for that year. I seem to recall that the Governor and an entourage traveled to Europe to arrange some museum exchanges. That trip may have been in 2005 and it might have lasted a long time. There was some talk over the limo driver's fee and for the amount of money the limo charged.....well, for that amount of money you might be able to drive around for a whole year.

And the records might have been destroyed by grease. Can you imagine the grease that would drip from a $60.00 cheeseburger? That amount of grease dripping on travel records could be disastrous!

There could be a simple explanation for the missing records. That's why we should always be reasonable and look on the bright side.
