I agree with your second and third paragraphs, but I have no clue what you mean by the phrase "the politics of ideological rage."

What ideology are the Clintons raging about?

What does Carville know about North Carolina or Kay Hagan?

I suspect Carville hasn't the faintest idea about the needs of our state or whether or not Kay Hagan would fairly represent the interests of either North Carolina or the nation. Unless Hagan's web site has changed recently, when I last checked there was no discussion of her position on any issues. The continuous loop video of Ms. Hagan saying her first thoughts each morning as she awakened were "what can I do today for the citizens of North Carolina" was both comical and disingenuous. Seems to me Mr. Carville is tooting Hagan simply because she's part of the Democratic "establishment"...you know, the Dems who talk like a progressive or populist but often vote differently.

We don't need another "blue dog" Democrat or professional politician representing the people of North Carolina. We need someone like Jim Neal who isn't beholden to anyone and who truly wants to be responsive to the people he represents. It's time for real change in Washington. I suspect Hagan would be a new face, but more of the same. Neal, on the other hand, is not a professional politician and understands how the rest of us live and the changes we seek. Carville doesn't get it.

Karl Rove... that you?

Karl Rove would be proud.... of the cheap character hack job you just attempted to through at Hillary Clinton. You can favor Barack Hussein Obama without smearing Hillary Rodham Clinton. They both exhibit incredible leadership qualities and both are high respected by the best and brightest this country has to offer. Both represent progressive ideals which will immediately change the course of this country away from the failed and dangerous policies which Bush's handlers (and now McCain's consultant Rove) have driven this country for the past 8 years.

Ive never given a dime of support to Hillary Clinton or to Bill Clinton but- I see the Clintons now of the candidates remaining as the clear experienced choice in this election- with the track record of economic and foreign policy success to get this country back on the right track. Its simple as that. I don't buy in to all the bumper sticker rhetoric. I look at the facts of what we know. We know that while Obama was working as a jr grade lawyer in a chicago firm, striving to get a seat in the Illinios state legislature- the Clintons were leading the United States of America from daddy Bush's gaping federal deficits, national debt and recession..... the Clintons were moving this country into unparalled substained economic growth- erasing deficits, emptying welfare roles and setting the country on course for enormous progress despite the relentless assault from the republicans which sank healthcare reform and sigificant environmental reforms.

George W. Bush then- took us headlong back into his dad's policies exhaserbated with the lunacy of Dick Cheney and Karl Rove's influence- and we are now... in the current state of economic incompetent free-fall, foreign debt, wars- with no end in sight.

The bottomline IS the bottomline. I don't need more uncertainty. WE CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER LEARN AS YOU GO PRESIDENT. Barack is an incredible talent but his is unproven. We are teetering, struggling desperately, seriously as a country through the incompetence of recent history. WE have reached a critical crossroads in our time and WE CAN'T AFFORD uncertainty.

The choice is- the proven success of the Clintons vs. uncertainty and unprepared Barak Obama. At this point in time- the choice is clear for me. In my perfect world Clinton and Obama run as a ticket- Obama absorbs a wealth on knowledge as VP over the next 8 years and becomes the leader on the world stage with the wealth of knowledge and experience to back it up in 8 years.

The Republicans have absolutely... failed in leadership over the past 8 years. It has been an unequivocal disaster which no one questions. Never- has there been a better opportunity to clearly elect a Democrat to the White House. Yet.... here we are on the edge of putting another Republican in the White House. We are teetering on sending forth the very democratic candidate in Obama which could lose this election hands-down and put another Republican and continuation of the Bush policy- back in the White House.

If Barak is crying over the primary fight with Clinton- he hasn't seen a inch of the horrors and background exposure the swiftboating Republicans are going to put on him by November. the Barak with the unknown clean slate in March will be a exposed damaged and exploited Barak in September once the Republicans get finished throughing his through the meatgrinder. The Roves over the world are already chomping at the bit and can hardly contain themselves against the 'fresh meat' which we could concievably sending them- in Obama this fall. the Clintons on the other hand- the Clints have been kicked, clawed and hammered for the past 20 years. They have run the gauntlet and what you see in March is what you get in November. They are tried, true and effective.

I COULDN'T CARE LESS about the personal soap operas. The times now- are serious. The only personal lives I am worried about are the personal lives of my family and the disasterous economic policies of the Bush/Rove Republicans which have jeopardized my family's future. I want the BEST, PROVEN change agents we have, and THOSE are- BILL AND HILLARY CLINTON.

Actually the location of the event is in the City of Durham. Maybe you can correct it online and then give the AP a heads up that the RTP part of Durham County is actually encompassed on both sides by the City of Durham. Here is a link to a map that will help quickly ID locations in the future. http://www.durham-nc.com/visitors/maps/index.php

Left to her own devices, and without her deep-seated anger, Hillary might be an average President and give us more of the same – but she will never, ever be left to her own devices…she is part of the Clinton/Carville machine warfare that practices what might be characterized aptly as the politics of ideological rage.

Furthermore, she thinks that she has to prove to us that she's “tough” and makes up stories to show us hows tough she is. While her husband, the former President, seems ready to play the "Cheney role" in her administration. Since South Carolina, he’s gone over the edge –unrestrained by the limits of his former Office, he is degenerated into a mean spirited "attack" dog for the "Clinton machine."

Yes, now he is bobbing and weaving all over Pennsylvania, Indiana and North Carolina, smiling and bowing and apologizing...but Bill Clinton wants to win – at any cost. And that motivation includes crushing Obama – if he stands in the way.

A Clinton Presidency will just add to the same old politics of hate and rage that is poisoning our national political dialogue. Carville and the Clintons practice what might charitably might be called "situational ethics" -- their ethics change to fit the situation. Constantly.

America does not need more policy wonk dishonesty. Or Bush stupidity. And, we do not need any more average Presidents.

Tryin' to keep the Ragin' Cajun' in a box...

Heh, I don't know if he'll stick to the script (he's Carville!), but the agreement is James Carville is STRICTLY speaking about empowering young voters and young Democrats, while Miss Clinton and Mayor Booker will be explicitly representing their respective camps.

Even as a Clinton-supporter, I see that the appearance is certainly a "tilt" towards us. But I think it is wholly ridiculous to accuse Sen. Obama of "ignoring" the youth vote b/c of this. The speakers, in order of confirmation, were Carville waaay back when, then shortly followed Sen. Edwards, then Mayor Booker, then, lastly just this week, Chelsea Clinton.

I think the Young Democrats of North Carolina leadership deserve recognition for "netting" these great Democratic speakers. I invite everyone, young and old, to come!
