There is someone for him to run against...Perdue, and he is losing!
I would bet Joe the Plumber's next yearly salary of $250,000.00 that Playboy Pat would not win if he ran for mayor right now. Furthermore, no one except the Charlotte Observer is saying Pat's opponents were weak. Are they wrong about that, too? Hey, don't blame the game; blame the player: the Playboy Pat Player!

I frankly have no respect for either Beverly or for the unions & politicians that would control Beverly. As Isacc136 stated, too much power in the hands of so few is not healthy. On top of that, Beverly and her power elite have already proven that they can't handle too much power as corruption in Raleigh is at an all time high.

When you show me some "unexpected" endorsements like mayors in your opponents party or perhaps major newspapers that either are known for their slant to the other party or they have endorsed the candidates for President and Senator from the other party, you just let me know.

Are you saying that the mostly African-American candidates that ran against Mayor McCrory in his 7 victories were WEAK, including the following democrats:
- State house member Beverly Earle
- Council Member Hoyle Martin
- Council Member Ella Scarborough (ran twice)

I believe that any Democrat, strong or weak (in your opinion), could have chosen to run against the Mayor. But in your opinion, your fellow democrats picked weak candidates. Do not blame Mayor McCrory as I believe that he took every opponent very seriously.

Oh, come on! We've been around and around about all of the other mayors and groups who support Perdue. Face it, any time Perdue receives honest, impressive endorsements, you people wish to diminish them. Sorry, it won't work. North Carolinians are beginning to see how inexperienced and irreverent McCrory really is. Last post I saw from "his" Charlotte Observer said he won those races b/c he ran against WEAK Democratic opponents.
I would bet a month of Joe the Plumber's wages that Playboy Pat would lose the mayoral race if he ran today. His own City Council calls him inexperienced and ineffective. His judgement is flawed and even as he said he thought Sarah Palin "is hotter in person", he also said even he would not vote for himself (now, that is one area in which we totally agreee).

Don't forget former Rep. Ronnie Smith from Carteret County. He served with Perdue from an adjoining county. Few people know Perdue better than Smith and he is also a co-chair of Democrats for McCrory. Apparently, not as newsworthy as a divisive, partisan Charlotte politician who ran against McCrory (she lost in the Democrat primary by the way). No wonder she is so bitter.

Ryan, is it really news that a liberal democratic politician would endorse Beverly for Governor? Would you really expect a political rival of Pat's in Charlotte to do anything differently?

But you fail to publicize something that doesn't happen every day: 3 democratic mayors from across the state endorse a republican for Governor including:
- Clayton Mayor Jody McLeod
- Carrboro Mayor Mark Chilton
- Salisbury Mayor Susan Kluttz

Salisbury Mayor Susan Kluttz says the following:
"In working with Pat for over 10 years on regional and statewide issues, I have constantly been impressed with his leadership in bringing together leaders from both parties for the betterment of our communities," Kluttz said. "He was instrumental in organizing the mayors of the largest cities of North Carolina a decade ago, in what has become the North Carolina Metropolitan Coalition.

"This bipartisan group of mayors has become a strong voice for cities in statewide issues such as economic development, transportation, fighting crime, gang prevention, court funding and protecting the environment," Kluttz continued. "Pat understands these issues and that it is crucial for them to be adequately addressed if North Carolina is to be successful in the future."

Ryan, I am sure that you will let us know when Beverly gets some endorsements of some Republican Mayors.

While McCrory would be fighting for Duke Energy and big banks. You know the "power elite", the "culture of arrogance", the "I'm Pat McCrory the difference is leadership". It is truly refreshing to see someone be so honest and admit corruption and power elite about himself, and he even touts Perdue's leadership. He further admitted on his infamous FoxLive interview on October 13th (you remember, "Sarah Palin is hotter in person") that he wouldn't even vote for himself. I agree! What a guy!!

Yeah these two are going to fight for us alright. Obama is going to be fighting to raise our taxes to pay for massive government spending, while Ole'Bev will be fighting to keep the corrupt status quo in Raleigh.

Oh dear, you have this one all wrong! McCrory said this long before Baldwin did, and worse yet, Baldwin did it as a parody on slimy, gross old men. If you watched SNL, you saw Palin roll her eyes in disgust. If you heard McCrory on FoxLive, you would know Playboy Pat said it first, was serious, and could only then be a caricature of himself and all slimy, gross men! Maybe Baldwin heard Pat say it and thought it was ridiculous enough to use as fodder on SNL!! This is a REAL issue - McCrory is irreverent and irresponsible.

Gosh picking, you must have been furious to hear Baldwin first say this on Saturday Night Live. Those were Baldwin's exact words. It's so nice to hear a Democrat like you coming to the defense of Governor Palin's honor. Maybe you should call up Baldwin and tell him of your disgust. Better yet, why don't you focus on the real issues of the campaign for Governor!

I think anything Perdue says would be honest and refreshing after the smut that came from McCrory on Foxlive. Watch that video of his top ten list...Number 1 "Sarah Palin is hotter in person." Disgusting, juvenile, irresponsible, and diplaying a total lack of good judgement. You actually could back someone like that? I am beyond amazed.
PS Why do you McCrory supporters ignore his spineless dodge of associations with Bush, Jim Black, and the RGA ads? His ads are the most negative on TV, but he does not have the guts to stand behind them. He pretends to be "clean" and lets the RGA do his dirty work. He alleges he can't pull those ads...ask any legal expert.

Wow, Bev has the support of a dozen mayors across the state. And at least one of them is NOT a mayor, Susan Burgess. Burgess is a Mayor Pro-Tem in Charlotte, which is kind of like a Lt. Governor - ceremonial.

And I guess another mayor on that list of 12 is Harvey Gantt who was a good mayor of Charlotte but from 1983-1987. While Harvey last said something publicly about Beverly in April, before the primary with Moore, his most recent comment that I am aware of about either candidate is the following: "Pat has done a really good job. Anybody who has the ability to be elected as many times as he's been is obviously doing a good job, and people are comfortable with him."

Pretty good for the opponent for who you are supposed to be endorsing.
