What makes Carter Wrenn a "Republican Consultant?"

I tell Republicans they suck every day. Where's my title?

Does it not pay to state the obvious?

I was at the Fayetteville rally on 10/19. We got turned away at the door after the crowd inside reached capacity. There were at least 3,000 people behind us. I don't think your count includes the people who were not able to get into the event.

Re: John McCain, Top Gun with Flat Tire

My my feeling a little snippy are we? I know it was an SUV, but it was the one with McCain in it. I criticized the item I replied to - a gush about the Top Gun swooping "straight into the Crown Coliseum" from the airport, and since he had to stop on the side of the road and change vehicles, it wasn't true.

There were way too many breathless entries about that event, and I didn't go back more than one page, so I missed the earlier item. The fact remains that you presented an over-the-top image straight out of Campaign Marketing 101 and not the caliber of what you should be sharing as an objective observer.

Actually, I did report that — before the AP. And the bus did not get a flat tire. It was an SUV. If you're going to criticize the blog, at least read it.

Well--considered from another perspective--why would McCain want to stand alongside a Senator with Dole's proven record of ineffectiveness?

Seriously, in this context, who would be the drag on whom?

Re: No Dole at McCain event

The sheer ignorance of this message board still amazes me.

For example, Ishley tries to make a case of why to vote against Dole, yet cites an undertone of sheer hatred and name calling. Are we in fifth grade?

Let's look at facts of the matter.

Ishley states "Kay Hagan isn't perfect, but she is honest, competent, hardworking, bipartisan, and moderate."

Bipartisan - this adjective is laughable at best. Hagan voted 99% of the time lock step with Sen. Marc Basnight and Sen. Tony Rand. She also voted to end debate on the 2009 budget and did not allow Republicans to have their voices heard. Is that what we call bipartisanship?

Moderate - at this point, I am close to falling out of my chair laughing, because I can not tell if Ishley is being serious or if he is trying out his new comedic routine for Goodnight's on Under the Dole, either way...FUNNY STUFF.

Hagan has taken over $12 million from the DSCC for this election, otherwise everyone knows she would not have had a chance. It also helps that Hagan, without much media scrutiny, has been able to adopt most of Dole's positions in order to attract votes. Hagan's record shows she will vote lockstep with the most liberals in the Senate, if elected.

Which brings me to my next observation...

Honesty - Kay Hagan has been doing anything and everything to deceive the voters of North Carolina. She has not taken a stance or shifted positions on the Bailout, the war in Iraq, Illegal Immigration, and offshore drilling. North Carolina deserves honesty, not pandering only to flip once again, if she is fortunate enough to get to DC.

Simply put, how will Kay Hagan vote once she gets to DC on these issues?

Plus, it is easily noticeable that Hagan's stump speeches will not be the course of action, if Hagan is elected, as she owes the DSCC $12 million in votes. This means, amnesty of all illegals, no offshore drilling, more government handouts...so forth and so on.

Also a serious question you MUST ask yourself is this. Does Kay Hagan have the backbone to stand up for North Carolina or will she fall victim to DC as have Rep. Jefferson of Louisiana. She has demonstrated, contrary to what her pandering campaign would have us think, no backbone or figuratively speaking BALLS to fight for what she believes. Hagan has been nothing short of a sock puppet for Basnight and Rand, which any bit of research shows has led North Carolina down the tubes in quality of roads and education. Inversely, Hagan is a consistent YES vote when comes to raising taxes, whether it be on income, property, or even the candy I buy at a gas station. Let's not forget that Hagan, as Chair of the Budget committee, passed a bill that raised our registration cost by $8 to fund a pilot program on Toll Roads. Let me know how that affects your pocketbook when you have to drive to work every day. This is after she said she DID NOT support toll roads...

The inability of North Carolinians, at least the ones on this blog, to recognize that Hagan is dishonest, bitterly partisan, and ultra-liberal ceases to amaze me.

As I have always maintained when I post. I welcome rebuttals, because I let the facts speak over emotion and logic over sensation.

I'm not making light of it at all. I have the greatest respect for Capt. McCain's service in NAVAL aviation, and I appreciate deeply the sacrifices he and other POWs made. I am a veteran and personally acquainted with more than one POW myself.

But the poster of the blog item above chose to use the Top Gun analogy without mentioning the failure along the way, and I merely continued that analogy to its logical conclusion: an airplane that has to stop on the side of the road, figuratively speaking, during a combat mission results in a pilot in enemy custody, if the pilot is lucky enough to survive the stop itself.

Ishley:

On Dole's on website, it shows that she was traveling the state as part of the Elizabus Tour of North Carolina. At the time of the McCain rally Senator Dole was in the Triad running her own campaign.

Do some research before you just attack.

Of the four candidates: McCain, Obama, Biden and Palin...

I'd think the best chance of getting the tire changed would be with Palin.

McCain has had too many injuries, Obama would research Supreme Court case decisions to see if it was within reason, and Biden has been in Washington too long to realize that we still use tires.

I believe Palin could change the tire while the boys debated. And probably not even mess up those pretty clothes.

"If he had been flying a plane in combat, the Top Gun would have been in custody again."

You are right about that. Allowing himself to be captured! Statistics show that no Chicago community organizer has ever bailed out in combat or allowed themselves to be taken prisoner. Quite a record!

I hope Hollywood does a sequel to "Top Gun" about community organizers....."Top, top-I sit here all day long and spin this top." Or “Bill, top off my coffee.”

How about, “It’s not God bless America, it’s…. God - this job is so boring it’s like living in a prison camp.”

If I did not know better I would think you were making light of McCain's military service.

“…nothing can stop the Army Air Corps……”
