I think I found where we can save a bunch of money and give it to the local school districts....

Eliminate the entire State Board of Education and all of the bureaucrats at the DPI.

It took them two days at a hotel to come up with that dreck?

Good god - get a group of parents together and you'd come up with better even if they don't have the vaunted PhD.

Still paying 2 leaders of education?

Are we still paying Bill Harrison $250k or more on top of what the state pays Atkinson, who was elected State Superintendent in 2008?

Oh please, Gosh, with 20 months left in the campaign, do you REALLY think this issue has the potential to sink Burr? Give me a break. This is nothing but the DSCC stirring up crap.

Really?

Burr told his constituents not to worry three days AFTER he told Brooke to freak out and run the ATM for three days!

THREE DAYS!

The press release was posted to Burr's Web site at 12:46 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2008.

On Thursday, Burr spokesman David Ward said that the senator had called his wife around the last weekend in September.

The last weekend in September of that year is THREE DAYS EARLIER my Republican friend.

Then Burr went on to BRAG about freaking out on Brooke prior to us for two and a half months JUST to explain his vote for Bush's Bank Bailout to a bunch of TeaBaggers.

Yes, Burr is sunk, under his own dead weight and stupid campaign team.

Did Rush Limbaugh sink the GOP as predicted when the DSCC were going after him 24/7? No. These are not issues that will stick around for a year and a half. Let me know when Burr kills a hooker, then we'll talk.

Burr told constituents not to mob ATMs

Sen. Richard Burr (D-N.C.) told his wife to pull the family's cash out of an ATM at the height of last fall's financial crisis — but he advised North Carolinians not to panic when Charlotte-based Wachovia was taken over by Citigroup in an emergency transaction around the same time.

Um.

Wow.

I simply can't improve on that reality one bit.

In the interest of retaining a two party system, is it possible that Burr could develop significant family issues real soon?

So our newest Senator Kay Hagan voted to confirm a tax cheat - in lock step with her Democrat leaders - and isn't this what Senator Dole was criticized for?

She already flip-flopped on voting for more bail out money. Is she also going to vote for this stimulus bill that includes?

More money on sod ($200M) for the mall than for small business tax credits ($50M),
More money for contraceptives – so we have less tax payers in the future funding social security – why are we paying for abortions in foreign countries when we can’t pay our credit card bills here?
Money for ACORN for more democrat voters
$50M for the Endowment for the Arts – more poetry, more crucifixes’s in a cup of urine?
Money to build zoos, casinos, museums, etc.
$350M for STD prevention

We definitely know who she is lock step in line with - and it is not the citizens of NC.

When Carter came to Washington, he brought all of his Georgia friends, when Bush II came to Washington, he brought all of his Texas friends, when Bill Clinton came to Washington, he did not know who to invite until after the election. And what did it get us, quagmire, indecision, bad decisions. Boys you need to step back and let the professionals handle this situation.

I am glad to see a President who knows that when he is a deep dark hole he needs to find a person with the best shovel skills, not one of his best friends from home.

I have been out of work since June of 2007 (a year and a half) and I want to see some serious digging into our problems and get to the light at the end of the tunnel. If that means a convicted felon can get us there faster than anyone else, let’s do it and deal with that problem when we get to daylight. Now is not the time to quibble over employment tax issues. There is a bigger picture here than listening to yourselves rail about how smart you are. Let's solve the problems, get the stock market up, get housing going again, and then place any blame you feel is necessary, when there are plenty of jobs to go around.

Protzman, you are kidding with the statement that Hagan has done more constructive work in week. Please...Please support your comment with FACTS.
She has already flipped flopped on the bailout money. She opposed it during the campaign and now she supports it. She has bailed out on the taxpayers. Hey, I voted for her. However, she already has sold herself to the money that gave to her campaign. Again, please tell me what she has done that you term "constructive".

As hard as it may be for you to believe, I was and remain a vocal opponent of Wush's corruption, and big govt failures. As far as proving it,
1. I don't take orders from liberal campaign dweebs of The Obama.
2. nothing I say would convince you that what I say is true, because I call 'em like I see 'em, and I say your 'The Obama' is as corrupt and criminal as Wush. And for a believer like you, the truth doesn't matter, only that 'our team won"
3. Think about it. If I spent hours dredging up all the negative stuff I've said about Wush or McLaim for that matter, you wouldn't even reply.
4. so just go on believing a power hungry corrupt chicago politician, who's already broken many of his campaign promises -- and keep attacking anyone that dares to question him.

I've run my own businesses for 30 years. I know full well that the government can't do many things as well as the private sector can. Many things. If the past eight years have proven anything, they have proven that. The Bush-led expansion of the military industrial complex is truly a staggering development. Wouldn't you like to have that trillion dollars we flushed in Iraq back right now?

I agree with the package and the need for accountability. I am against the bail-out of banks now, just as I was the first time it happened. That fiasco was an equal-opportunity screw up by both parties and accounts, in part, for my re-registering as an unaffiliated voter.

if the people you're ranking and filing with are sane and competent.

It's when you're ranking and filing with criminally negligent politicians like Cheney, Gonzales, Bush, et. al., that you should be called on it. It's important to keep context in mind. No?

with which I mostly agree. I'm not keen on Geithner and Burr should probably get a sliver of credit for not allowing his breathtaking history hypocrisy to get in the way of his judgment today. It's too bad he never said word one about the disastrous effects of Republican leadership over the past eight years.

Dude, that's impossible. I've written a novel about the second (and third, and fourth) coming and Barack Hussein Obama's not in it.

Dang. Guess I'll have to write another one.

James

PS I've heard WAY more lunatics on the right calling Obama the Chosen One than I've heard lunatics on the left making that claim. You guys seem to have a seriously weird god complex after eight years of King George driving us toward the end times!
