3 more reasons why you might be on the Wildlife Commission

You might be a wildlife commissioner if:
1. You call it an "open" meeting when someone remembers to bring a corkscrew.
2. Your pickup truck is a bmw parked outside the General Assembly building.
3. Your bid to become a wildlife commission was based on a talent for putting on puppet shows.

Perdue gently admonishes the Wildlife Commission

I applaud Governor Perdue's gentle reminder to state boards and commissions that they are obligated to follow the law, no matter how big their checks to her campaign might have been.

What has been effectively hushed up, however, is the disgraceful behavior of commissioners threatening constituents by mentioning their cushy political connections. I'm not sure why the statements of three witnesses to this behavior by Chairman Seegars and David Hoyle (Jr.)of the WRC would not merit a mention by the media, but there's little question that if these witnesses are telling the truth, Seegars and Hoyle need some schooling in the finer arts of political maneuvering.

But there they sit, still, on a commission that has significant influence over how our wildlife resources are managed. The credibility of that commission to perform its mission -- which includes a lot of input into environmental issues -- is seriously compromised when its members are given a pass for abusive behavior.

If readers think that the only interested parties are a bunch of hunters whose interests are easily brushed aside or even scorned, it might be helpful for those readers to bone up on what the preservation of our wildlife habitat really means for those of us who care about clean air and water and land.

Someone better tell the folks at Wildlife Resources

about the open records law. If their confusion about open meetings indicates anything, they're going to need outside counsel to explain this law to them, too.

1. You speak fluent camoflague.
3. You consider political contributions as an effective use of natural bait.
Wildlife Commission switches gears

I think it's great that the Wildlife Commission suddenly remembered who it's supposed to work for. Looks like the bowhunters opened up the shades so Mr. Seegars could see the light. I bet he's thanked them warmly.

Wildlife Commissioners and Perdue

You can't vote them out of office but you can contact the politicians who appointed them and tell them what you think about it.

The commissioners mentioned in the magazine article are the governor's appointees.

Alleged Abuse by Wildlife Resources Commission

What the Dome doesn't mention is the "rest of the story" carried by North Carolina Sportsman magazine online, which reports the allegations made by three witnesses to Wes Seegars' referring to his political influence with the governor to try to discourage the Bowhunters' opposition. The magazine also referred to statements by one of the bowhunters that another of the commissioners, the son of a senator, called him to point out his political pull with his "daddy" and the governor by way of indicating the power the commission had to thwart any opposition mounted by the bowhunters.

ElectriCities

We all keep asking Why? Senator Martin Nesbitt and Rep. Dan Blue got big PAC checks from ElectriCities and pushed legislation. Why? They have no electric city in their district.

ElectriCities refuses to answer questions about their new 14% rate increase effective in August. Why? Because they want everyone to believe it is all fuel costs even though they have told their cities it is a combination of fuel costs and CEO mismanagement of a refinancing of the $3 billion eastern debt which is costing 5% of the rate increase. Why?

The press helps them cover and pretends it is fuel costs. Why?

They are meeting today and refuse to answer even though it is public money and a public meeting. Why?

Why do we all allow people to behave this way when their job is to represent us?

Tony Rand is the biggest CROOK in the NC Senate ( and now, we find that our own Sen. Martin Nesbitt, shares an office with the crook!) ...

Tony Rand is the devil for NC these days...he's as corrupt as they come!
We learned quite a bit about him and 'Sugar Dumplin' yesterday in Rawleigh...Sugar Dumplin aint nothin but a corrupt show...but man, we got in their faces at TAKE BACK OUR STATE rally...

Funny, not ONE democrackkk was noted in attendence at the rally...they dont have the GUTS to appear there!!!

We need ALL licensed real estate brokers in NC to call for Tony Rand's NAME be REMOVED from the HQ bldg. of the NC Real Estate Commission!

Hey TONY, why dont you do the right thing and tell the NCREC that its grossly INappropriate that your name is there, and to remove your name from the bldg immediately! It makes real estate brokers SICK to see your name on their building.

Nonsense tangoz and Pittenger. In Russia political opponents are jailed, murdered and forbidden from running for office.

That doesnt mean Rand is right. Keeping reporters out of these meetings is right on the border of being illegal. But its absolutely nothing compared to Russia.

Robert Pittenger was right! The people of the Russia have more rights than the people of North Carolina. I call on the voters of Tony Rand's senate district to vote out the tyrant. If they do not I will have to publically challenge their motives.

WAKE UP PEOPLE, the Democrats in this state are acting just like they know better and the less you know the better.

I pledge $100 towards Dan Kane's bail the next time the Down East kleptocracy tries that stunt. Just take a seat and force them to call the law.

The trick is to put your hands on your head slowly enough that they do not TASER you.

The rest of the experience is pretty much identical to jr. high in a NC public school.
