With all due respect to Mrs. Marshall, what one must think of a candidate who has held statewide office for 12 years or more, has the distinction of beating "the King", Richard Petty and can only muster 38% of the vote against a first-term Senator!

If the current crop is the best the Dems can do in North Carolina, don't expect this to be even close in November 2010!

Looks like there is some cherry picking going on here. Burr's fav/unfav is 58-26, which is very solid. Marhsall rings in at 37-40, Lewis at 33-46, and and Etheridge at 37-44.

There is also zero mention of the positive trajectory here - the gap between Burr and the competition continues to widen, both in terms of matchups and overall approval.

He might not be at 50% but he is considerably closer than he was just a short while ago.

Also, where is your mention of PPP's poll showing abysmal approval ratings for Perdue? Is her poor performance so consistent as to not warrant any news coverage?

Now, it's "backstabbing" when someone disagrees with McCrory? The mayor would expect and desire the endorsement of anyone willing to endorse him, and we all know that. You need to finish that quote from Harvey Gantt; that is the same time that he recently endorsed Perdue.
It seems that you know McCrory personally to know how he feels; have you ever been on the receiving end of his red hot temper? If not, you have never disagreed with him. He seems very affable as long as he's in control; otherwise, watch out - he's been known to laugh at and demean anyone who dares to contradict his inflexible "ideas" (actually the ideas of Bush and the RGA).

Perdue NOT a non-factor in Raleigh Status Quo

I am glad that you admit that Beverly has been a "factor" in the corrupt and incestuous status quo for 8 years and beyond. Even the N&O, Observer, and other news outlets call Perdue a clone of Easley and part of the status quo in Raleigh? Perdue's a whole lot closer to Easley and the corrupt status quo than your continued claim about Pat's ties to Bush.

The Mayor would never expect or desire the support of council member Susan Burgess, a democrat who has attempted to backstab the Mayor for years and thirsted for his position (she will be the first to say she is running for Mayor if McCrory wins Governor). Instead, just ask the voters (democrats and independents outnumber republicans 3:1) who have elected him 7 times (not counting at-large city council) if he has been a political factor in Charlotte.

The light transit system would not be in Charlotte without Mayor McCrory's support. Why else did his opponents want to call it the McCrory Line before it became wildly successful. It is now called the Blue Line.

And while Harvey Gantt did endorse Beverly over Moore during the primary, I have not seen anything recent about him talking about her. I would submit that Harvey's most recent comment about either candidate is below:

"Pat has done a really good job. Anybody who has the ability to be elected as many times as he's been is obviously doing a good job, and people are comfortable with him."

For starters, I will bet you that she will not say anyone is "hotter in person"; that alone is so disgusting that even if I had ever been a McCrory supporter, I would vote for anyone else but him now.
Perdue was a separate entity from Easley, yet she initiated and promoted healthy lifestyle programs for adults and teens; she saved our military bases; she was instrumental in assistance during hurricane crises; and she has worked diligently to ensure great early childhood educational programs, as well as post high school programs. Please go to her webpage. Not one person has said she was a nonfactor in Raleigh.
Now, tell me one thing McCrory has done above what the Charlotte City Council did? Just ask the council members; they stated, "McCrory has been a nonfactor in Charlotte politics."

This is the last straw!!! You McCrory supporters accuse Perdue of playing to different audiences; how about Playboy Pat (you know "Palin is hotter in person") feigning surprise that one might vote for him and Obama (that's a paradox) and now appealing to Munger supporters? Which lie is the closest to the truth b/c there is no real validity to your two/three/four-faced rhetoric? Are you really for or against anything but winning? What are your qualifications beyond referee? Will the real Pat McBush please stand up...and crawl back under your rock!

There are a lot of protest voters for Munger. I am one of them. Beverly Perdue should never be this close to being Governor and Pat McCrory is just wrong on the issues.

No doubt Munger is open. So what's up with McCrory?

Either Pat said he was open to Munger in a McCrory administration or McCrory supporters on here are just posting nonsense thinking they're helping. Did Richard Hudson approve this line of pandering?

I'd love the Dome to find out if Pat McCrory is indeed open to Mr. Munger being part of a McCrory administration, or if McCrory supporters on the Dome are just liars.

It's one or the other.

It's ironic that a liberal rag writes that Perdue is awkward and corrupt. They should be in her camp even more given that the N&O says that Beverly grows more liberal.

Moderate democrats and independents beware as the N&O states that Beverly’s votes have grown “more liberal as she spent more years as a lawmaker.”

So its awkward, corrupt and liberal.
