Re: Dority: Avoid All-Charlotte ticket

With the way Charlotte - WNC has been dissed thru the years by NC democrats, MORE POWER TO THEM if they ARE on the same ticket! Its TIME that the western half of the state be compensated accordingly to the east, where the power monger democrat whoredogs have operated our once great state into a cesspool of CORRUPTION!

Robert Orr for Governor and Robert Pittenger, Lt Gov. would be the best choices for NC.

Isn't his name Robert Pittenger? I've never heard him called Bob.

Re: Fundraising: Lt. Governor

RTB - What you say makes sense to me. If donations equal support, it looks like Dalton is the special interests candidate, Dellinger is the out of State Money's candidate, Smather's is his own candidate (he's running the campaign on money he lent to it), and Besse is Forsyth County's candidate (most of his money comes from there).

Maybe you should report amount raised and cash on hand.

I'm listing the amounts raised by the candidates so far this election cycle.

To me, that's a better measure of how well they're doing than how much they raised during an arbitrary time period of the last half of last year.

The cash on hand number is important too, since it shows how much they can spend. But it obscures the difference between money raised and personal loans, among other things.

How does this AP story match with what you have? I'm confused. Also, is the amount raised most important or the cash on hand number?

Thanks

Since we are noting things, in this last report his parents gave him $200,000 and he only raised $143,000 on his own. We are supposed to believe that he raised an additional $185,000 since December 31st – on his own? Why won’t Hampton tell us how much of this new money is really from his parents and how much is from real contributors?

It is worth noting that Hampton Dellinger had a heck of a January 2008 as well, and as of January 25 was showing over $914,000 cash on hand, which should be best in the field.

Go Robert! Out of all the polticians I have met in this state, this guy is probably the most genuine. He has the right ideas and really wants to do what is best for North Carolina. I wish we had a Senate full of men like Pittenger. I agree with FFC1304, a Graham/Pittenger would be a winning combo. They are the only two, and possibly Orr, who could really sell the possibility of change. Sen. Pittenger, thank you for what you do for our state.
