Re: "In introducing Bowles, Burr said: "Erskine Bowles is the best president of the university system we had the pleasure of having."

I certainly hope that Sen. Burr will remember that Dr. William Friday served as university system president for three decades. I am sure even
President Bowles would not dare to place himself on par with this good and honorable man. How soon we forget!

What's Burr going to do to fix it?

Just maybe do you think Burr might be trying to combat the over 10% unemployment rate our state currently enjoys.

Vote for his opponent?

Once again DOME your bias is showing. You state that Burr is trying to raise his visibility in the state by holding a statewide summit on economic development. REALLY, DOME, REALLY. Just maybe do you think Burr might be trying to combat the over 10% unemployment rate our state currently enjoys. Also if you did a little research (I know that is too much to ask) you would see that Burr has been doing these type of events all over the state since he was elected.

I did notice that in your post about Perdue shifting her staff around you didn’t mention anything about it being linked to her poll #’s being in the 20’s. How come? That must be the reason she did it.

Oh, Gigglebox, I called Burr's office and it is free and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

I'm sure the public is invited? Where do real Durham residents call for tickets? 1-800-GlaxoSmithKlineGoToHell?

I can't believe Ralls thought this was going to keep anyone from filing a bill at the GA. Maybe he himself wants to run for something sooner rather than later. In any event, his effort to suggest that Cooper's advisory letter left him no choice is ridiculous.

Can someone please ask Ralls or someone how many TOTAL undocumented students there are among the over 800K enrolled?

Nuther not small point: There is no residency requirement of any kind for the continuing education classes undocumented students can still take. This means that citizens who pay state income taxes pay the exact same fees to take the classes -- which include vocational stuff like forklift operation and certified bank teller classes -- as illegal aliens who do NOT pay income taxes anywhere to help support the system.

Re: Community colleges bar illegal immigrants

Roy Cooper’s decision is applauded for it’s common sense and correct interpretation of immigration law. It’s good to see sanity and the rule of law returned to NC state government. I’m glad to see the NC community college system’s compliant decision, as well.

Grand master Erskine Bowles, a Clintonian to the core, and the People’s Republic of Chapel Hill are another matter. They are entirely wrapped in their bleeding heart academic cocoon having no clue of the more than 80% public opposition to allowing illegal aliens into NC colleges.

Erskine is so disoriented from the fog of his progressive liberal disorder that he believes going to college is another “job Americans wont’ do.”

Even Roy Cooper no longer cares what Mike Easley says nor does the community college system. Are we really going to put his protege in Perdue in for another four years?
