Daniel Akin needs to keep his laws off of my body. I have to take birth control pills so that I can actually have a menstrual cycle (for the literate: look up Stein-Leventhal Syndrome sometime). If Akin and others like him get his way, I and others in my boat will be well and truly hooped--but at least his capricious child-god won't consider me a sinner who's bound for the mythical lake of fire...well not for that, anyway.

I must agree that Obama has the edge in separating church and state. He separated himself from Jeremiah Wright in world record time.

So much for the separation of church and state

"To wit: Daniel Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, sent an e-mail to students titled “Why Faithful Evangelicals Cannot Vote for Barack Obama,” reports Yonat Shimron."

Which is a blatant violation of IRS tax exemption rules, and should result in the immediate revocation of SBTS's tax exempt status. But it won't.

Re: Akin hearts Huckabee

Huckabee has the qualifications that we all are looking for in a president but he needs more funding from his followers. I do not understand why all of our Christian leadership in this country is not stepping up to the plate to support Huckabee. How they can on one hand preach the gospel of Jesus and on the other hand be torn over which candidate to choose so they can be on a winning ticket. The other choices Romney-Mormon(believes in a different Jesus than Christians), Giuliani-pro-abortion and pro-homosexual marriage, McCain-cannot keep his own campaign together, and Thompson-pro-abortion, checkered past and falls asleep during the debates, that is when he is not reading his answers.

Huckabee definitely deserves more support and interest than he currently receives. He may not be a big name on the radar but he has a solid record and appears consistent with his stance.
