First of all, Gosh, please present the entire story told by Burr.

“On Wednesday morning of that week, after they had given the transfer notice to the bank, the Chicago bank called and said, ‘We didn’t transfer the money. There is no money being transferred. There is no money that will transfer from a bank to a bank anywhere in the United States, and likely there is no money that will transfer from a bank to a bank anywhere in the world,’” Burr said.

“On Friday night, I called my wife and I said, ‘Brooke, I am not coming home this weekend. I will call you on Monday. Tonight, I want you to go to the ATM machine, and I want you to draw out everything it will let you take. And I want you to tomorrow, and I want you to go Sunday.’ I was convinced on Friday night that if you put a plastic card in an ATM machine the last thing you were going to get was cash.”

Burr's story as quoted in the original article never offers any specific dates. Thus I am not sure how James and Gosh knows exactly what he knew about the financial markets on that particular "Wednesday". James' argument is founded in taking a quote out of context and playing the "victimhood" card.

Yet, James and Gosh, HuffPo and others claims that Burr was subject to insider information.

Can you provide the dates of that Wednesday, Gosh?

Well then stop promoting a BS story.

In 2008, he was named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People on Capitol Hill" by a local newspaper.

Is that the same pretty face that just said Burr's bank run isn't real news since he's been telling that story a while now?

Only the best and the brightest for Burr, folks. The best and the brightest.

I'm so glad Burr got right on that just 5 years into his term. Constituent Services are important at re-election time.

I just happened to notice the other day that many of the dead end links in Burr's official government website are still cached in Google to this day.

Try Googling "Contact Richard Burr."

Richard Burr, United States Senator of North Carolina: Home
Contact Me. Home. Home Page | About Senator Burr | Constituent Services | Issues & Legislation | Press Office · For Students & Kids | Privacy Policy | Site ... burr.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Contact.Home - 10k -

The Richard Burr "Contact Me" homepage is a real hoot.

The following is from Senator Kay Hagan's website during the campaign...

"Reinstate fiscal responsibility: Federal budget deficits can have a significant impact on the household budgets of all Americans. The Federal Reserve has concluded that increased federal budget deficits cause interest rates to rise. In fact, the Federal Reserve states that for every additional one percent increase in the federal deficit as a share of the gross domestic product (GDP), interest rates will rise one-quarter of one
percent. Under the Bush Administration, the federal deficit has climbed by four percentage points as a share of the GDP, meaning that interest rates are, on average, a full point higher. One group has calculated that this one percent increase in interest rates for home, car, student, and credit card debt can cost consumers $1,752 per year. Moreover, every North Carolina family pays an average of $1,867 in taxes each year just to pay the interest on the $9.6 trillion national debt. To reduce our ballooning budget deficit, Kay will slash wasteful spending, demand that Congress follow pay-as-you-go rules, and close tax loopholes for big, multinational corporations. We must also fight against wasteful federal contracts and explore ways to reduce our national debt, specifically our foreign-held debt. Restoring discipline to our fiscal policy will enable our monetary policymakers to lower interest rates, which, in turn, will reduce everyday costs for middle class Americans."

Yet she voted for the $410 billion Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009 and has touted garnering over $520 million dollars for North Carolina.

Ryan - this is a story of how she has already flip flopped on her stances...this is a real story....

Wow must be a slow news day...

At least Burr's office is responsive compared to Senator Hagan's office.

I delete as few comments as I possibly can, and I've faced more criticism for not deleting enough than for deleting them.

In this case, the commenter came up with a racist nickname for the first lady and used an outdated, egregiously offensive term for the president's children. This has nothing to do with any political argument, and the fact that I only deleted the comment and did not immediately suspend the commenter's account shows that if anything I was too easy on him.

Oh, Tangoz, thank heavens SOMEONE has the guts to call James on his subversive agenda to have women and children used as human shields in Gaza. I thought I was the only one really steamed about that.

I bet even you, with your keen eye for what's astir among lib'ruls, didn't know that James was also working furiously behind the scenes to promote legislation -- get this -- to provide special ultra-foam padded, silk covered prayer mats to be included in an exit package for all current detainees of Guantanamo Bay.

I kid you not. Apparently, James has been hosting a Koran study group in Chapel Hill (all sworn not to discuss the meeting times and places), and ran across an obscure passage that calls for prayer mats to bear some design attesting to the adherent's commitment. This passage was the basis for a sort of vogue in the seventies (when the hostages were taken in Iran) for marketing prayer mats with personalized embroidery. This led to competition among weavers to market status prayer mats. And how did they do it? You guessed it. Special foam padding and special silk.

Coincidence? I don't think so. James, you are SO busted.

Did I say something offensive about the historically high level of incompetence and buffoonery for which Dubya was and ever shall be known?

Oh dear.

Has Dome given any thought to presenting some of tangoz's "thoughts" here in cartoon panels? 'Cause I think you could illustrate 'em just right and folks would assume every word was pure parody.

Hey James I can call you a extremist also for wanting to coddle terrorists who kill innocent women and children. I bet you think it is ok for a group like Hamas to use women and children as human shields in Gaza also.

So Roberts is extreme for upholding the 2nd amendment. And soon he will have to uphold the 1st amendment when your extremist buddies try to censor talk radio. James why are you trying to subvert the US Constitution? You like giving rights to criminals and terrorists but not protect American rights. Why is that? No sir, you are the extemist.

Hey Ryan, can you clarify high levels of offensive? I find James Protzman offensive but I do not ask you to censor him. Was the person using vulgarities? Was the person making personal attacks? If that was true you need to censor people like Issac for the comments he uses against our past President.
I have to say you are inconsistent at best and being a supporter of Democrats I find your motives suspicious. You have my number, call me and time.
