Actually, the total is in excess of $1.5 million.

As of Oct. 31, SEIU had given $1,150,000 to the Democrat Party fund to elect State Candidates.

http://www.app.sboe.state.nc.us/cf_pdf/2008/20081103_70252.pdf

And that's just the tip on the iceberg when it comes to the amount of Union money that NCDP raised this year.

The Unions have played a big part in where the BIG 3 automakers are now. The average costs of labor by the BIG 3 is over $30 a hour more than other automakers in the south including benefits.

Since I get paid by the hour and rely on my company for compensation I understand trying to make as much as you can. That is the American way. But bankrupting your company over this doesn't make any sense. And if the executives let this happen then they share in the blame.

So, No I am not for a bailout of the BIG 3.

I believe that the unions and union organizations do not seem to see the picture and are only a detriment in today's world. Before they were needed for worker safety and compensation. Now they are just for obtaining power and running this country their way through their lackeys.

RTB what is with the detailed mentioning of the Senate races but a simple summation of the House races? I am not crying unfairness but it just seems a bit odd to place more emphasis on one chamber.

Soles is one of 4 or 5 State Senate Democrats that need to send Barack Obama a thank you note for competing in and ultimately winning NC.

You wrote: "In one instance, Soles beat off a client with his shoe."

Well, shoes make the man!

But around here our lawyers would never take off their shoes to beat a client. Most of the local law boys have deals with the local funeral home. The funeral director calls them if he is getting ready to bury a rich man with nice shoes. The lawyer will take his worn-out Hushpuppies down there and trade. My lawyer got a real nice pair of Allen-Edmonds lace-ups last year. The shoes are a size too small for my lawyer but he still wears them. He claims the limp is from the war even though he did not serve. But I doubt he would even take them off to beat a client……because he always gets his money up front. They might have to beat him to get him to do something but never the other way around.

He’s not too good a lawyer but he is a good businessman.

Taking your shoes off to beat a client indicates that the lawyer probably went to one of those Christian law schools.

They located here because of NC's lax license laws. Ryan, you should see how many of the indicted have had an NC license at one point.

So you think it's ok for legislators to stay at lobbyists homes? Isn't it the job of a lobbyist to get legislation favorable to their cause? Don't they already have an unfair advantage over the ordinary folk? $$$ Sorry, not me. Check out the W-ton Star News forum for other opinions.

So what? You think it's against the law for her to room with a lobbyist?

Are you nuts? Are you desperate?
