This law would violate the equal protection clause of the Constitution since deported illegal immigrants wouldn't be encumbered in the least from a name change upon aggravated re-entry under a new name.

It will cover the politicians also if you count the ones currently serving time in prison, Jim Black, Ballance and possibly in the future Mike Sleasley.

Does anyone have background infor on H677? Why eliminate specialty plates? Beyond making our state look completely boring, don't some of the procedes from those plates go to charity? I'm sure the Democrats who sponsored this bill aren't anti-charity, are they?

I suppose Ray does represent the typical Obama voter, emotional and or racist. Obama would never have won if he were the same man but white - never got out of Chicago. Obama was elected because he is black. Millions of first time voters who know nothing about government or politics voted for Obama because he is black. The whole world admires us for electing a black man. I know I shouldn't say any of this because if you vote for a guy because he is black that's ok, it prooves you are a good person.
Something else, Ray is wrong in saying
"...And for once it was true. We can."
because it has always been true that 'Yes we can', ever since a tiny group of provincials declaired war aginst and defeated the most powerful Empire on the earth to create the greatest society in the history of the world. More people in the world have their liberty because of the USA than Ray will ever understand.

I guess the Dome has little-to-nothing to post since the end of the election. It seems to me to be quite a stretch to somehow relate this cute story from Nellies, the nominally gay sports bar, to “Under the Dome.” I guess since the author is a native North Carolinian that makes the celebration in Nellies, the nominally gay sports bar, interesting to the readers of the Dome.

Are you going to print other stories from North Carolinians scattered around the country? I have a sister who is professional girl working the strip at Vegas. She could probably pen a few lines for Dome if you are that desperate for drivel.

Maybe you could make the view from Nellies, the nominally gay sports bar, a regular column on the Dome. I know I'd be 'delighted' to read it. It would be 'fab' I'm sure.
