Thanks Gosh. I actually do know how it all works but I appreciate your attention. As for flailing and gnashing, I do gnash on occasion but I've never flailed. How come so many folks are compelled lately to comment on my comments? I don't mind at all, but I thought folks came here to discuss the N&O articles, not the readers making the comments. ...... whatever.

It's obvious you don't know how independent pollsters work no matter who hires them.

Do you know how Google works?

For example, when you say "Richard Burr is a pedophile, a space alien and a serial killer," all those people searching for "Richard Burr" along with "pedophile" now get your public flailing of limbs and gnashing of teeth you call a post, and see how truly weak Dick Burr is as an incumbent.

First, as a scientific poll, this is definitely NOT, which means the numbers generated are worthless. So what we have left is a Democrat driven suggestion that either Cooper or Moore should run against the incumbent Republican candidate.

Considering that mess down there on the border Bush deserves to be impeached and held accountable for all the poor souls, including all too many in NC, that he's let get killed by Third World Invaders who have no business being here while he and McCain crow about giving amnesty to these criminals.

Ryan, As was noted already, your post was incorrect as you failed to note that Jones has a Republican primary opponent - Joe McLaughlin.

Also, it would have been interesting for you to point out that Walter Jones has dropped the "I" word before. That's right: Walter Jones has said he supported impeachment of George W. I googled for the reference and what did I find but a post written by YOU on November 7... Just to jog your memory....

"Jones told him he would not introduce an impeachment resolution, but he would support one if it was introduced. "

Can't wait until Election Day when all you "insiders" can give us voters all your wisdom on why McLaughlin won. Ryan, I would suggest you follow the advice of your college professors and get out and talk to some Republicans in eastern North Carolina and find out about their true feelings when it comes to the Jones/McLaughlin race. Have you forgotten "The Great Shoe-Leather Tour"?

Hope the part about facing Walter Jones is prophecy to show that Joe McLoughlin deserves little thought on May 6 because he truly doesn't. Adames is a left wing kook just as much as McLoughlin is a Bushbot who can't think of any talking points Karl Rove isn't pushing.

For those who have asked since your Thursday quick hits blog entry this morning, especially those who've contacted me about it in the media, we have been assured by the legislature's own institutional memory of 30 years, Gerry Cohen, that Representative Melanie Wade Goodwin is indeed the very first woman legislator to be expecting a baby while holding legislative office in North Carolina. We have also been given additional assurances by another legislative source in the Speaker's office that this is true.

Thanks to everyone for the very kind wishes and prayers you have sent our way upon hearing our news!

2008 will be quite a busy year for us all ...
