Nice try.........but it is going to take a bigger brush than the one you just used to paint a government insider associated with the Easley, Perdue, Basnight, Rand, Black and Hackney regime as a victim!

Allred is gone but there are still a lot of nasty people in the GA who deserve the boot just as much as he did.

What a shameful pair of posted comments. Disparaging a young guy who catches up with mail from a move and takes care of his responsibilites paying a fine for 42 in a 35 ticket? I'm sure that's never happened to anyone, before. According to you fanatics, that somehow makes a person evil? Were you awake, during Cary Allred bizarre recent escapades? Allred, an elected republican legislator clocked at 100+ mph more than once and fondling a teenage page. If you are looking for something to be outraged- what was your perspective on Allred? Cary A. is an elected official and is rightfully subject to public accounting. Attacking a kid because by fate they happen to be born to someone in office- a result which they have no choice- is despicable. A word to the wise- to be taken credibly you may want to at least appear somewhat rational. On other hand.... please continue with the rants. It is character exposing and reinforces why folks of the extreme rarely are taken seriously.

How can one keep their license when it has been revoked? I guess one can when one's mother is part of the ruling party of the state -- a state that has seen only 2 Republican governors since the Civil War. Any party in power that long becomes corrupt and we see it all the time here in NC. Funniest thing I ever heard was in 1994 when the Republicans for the first time in a century took control over the Alleghany County Commissioners in Pittsburgh, PA. All the political appointees were crying because they were losing their jobs. One gentleman I heard on the radio was crying that it wasn't fair, his grandfather and his father both had had his job and why should he lose his!! It was pointed out to him that his job was a political appointee job working for the country parks. He felt he was entitled to the job. The same dynamic works here in NC -- Democrats have controlled everything for so long that they feel they are entitled to their jobs and they don't see anything wrong in breaking the law but they sure have perfected their excuses and their sense of outrage when call on their actions. Going to Europe and eating a $60 hamburger while traveling around in a chauffeured car; what is wrong with that. Part of the enjoyment of going to Europe is the food; why would you want to eat a hamburger?

Career politicians breed corruption and lies. Vote them out or they and their cronies die in office.

Option one...you win
Option two...you lose

Wouldn't it be easier if they just went ahead and registered him as a lobyist for North Carolina, let him work on NC issues, then had him follow the rules? As it is, unless they want to release a full accounting of his travels, meetings, and conversations, anytime he and a politician are in the same room, we're going to have these questions come up. That or move him to DC and let him play in the big leagues there until Gov. Perdue is out of office.

Last I checked all kinds of people attended. To single out a handful in attendance is completely misleading with a melicious agenda. Beverly Perdue was elected Governor over your "endorsement" of Pat McCrory. Get over it N&O. The people have spoken. You have not right to target a child of an elected official, trying to 'create' fake news. Garrett Perdue is not an elected official. You should be ashamed for this continuous witch hunt. Undermines any objective crediblity that remains on your part.

Thank you for reporting. If Mr. Perdue is not doing lobbying in NC then why is he attending functions were legislators, their staff and lobbyist mingle?

So... it's against the law to go to a party because other North Carolinians may be there? Ridiculous... Get a grip N&O you are grasping. This young guy isn't an elected official. Get over yourself N&O.

That's politics. But, if he wants to lobby, that should be his right as an individual and not bound to limitations by namesake. If any of you have ever worked in state government for any amount of time, you know that it usually isn't what you know or how well you performed your duties, but who you know for advancement or hire (for the higher grade positions). There are few exceptions though.

So where is the story?

The problem with so many newspaper "blogs" is that they are not blogs at all. They are orts, observations, and bits and pieces of stories that are not good enough to make it in the paper. And there's a reason for that.

There's no "there" there.

Write us back when there's news, Ryan.

The son of the governor has a job as a lobbyist with the state's biggest and most politically connected law firm, yet neither he nor it has said who his clients are or what he does. I think that's a worthy subject.

Don't worry. The House will start debating the smoking ban soon, and I'll move on...
