And reactionary "conservatives" wonder why no one trusts them with the economy anymore.

"Listening to customers" has nothing to do with The N&O's trouble. Their foolish corporate masters have driven the parent company into the ground just like the unregulated financial wizards have strangled the larger economy with debt and bets they can never pay off.

Both parties are to blame to some extent...James thinks its the right..tangoz thinks its the left...but both parties are to blame for their disregard for the Constitution...

Obama campaign as the champion of CHANGE and we are seeing just more deviation for the Constitution...

At least the foreign leaders had a fear of Bush unlike the jockeying for position under Obama...

Apparently james Protzman has never heard of Nancy Pelosi, Senator Dodd, and better yet Bill Clinton. nancy Pelosi just said she doesn't think securing our border is patriotic and Dodd accepted over $100k from AIG employees before his current chairmanship stint. Did you read the latest article on Easley?
But hey Protzman's typical smear on Republicans without pointing out Democrat failings is his method of distraction.

I know I used to be a jerk too, but I've gotten past it. Fetzer should too.

Newspapers in general, and the N&O in particular, play a critical role in North Carolina. Fetzer seems to think it's amusing to imagine our state without an effective fourth estate, and would no doubt be happy to sell out our fragile democracy for partisan gain. It's the Republican way.

I have no problem with these type appointments. I personally believe that once you get a political or state job you should have one for life. If one job ends another agency or branch of government should give you one. Once you are on the public payroll you are not qualified to return to the private sector. I once farmed and I can tell you truthfully that once you start a hog off eating out of the trough, they become dependent on it. You just cannot set them loose into the wild. That would be cruel. We need to take care of the agency and state employees and not be cruel. There is plenty of money to go around so get over it. The supposed shortage of money is just a scam to get people to eat off the dollar menu.

Yep, when will Sleazely be INDICTED for various charges? Atty Generals protect the ones before them in NC!

You can BET that this new appointment is indicative of more potential CORRUPTION within the state!

Given Anderson's shady past, you cant tell me that not one of the other 165 applicants, with less involvement, wouldnt have been a better choice, but we know who controls everything - democrackkks.

Attorney General Roy Cooper has given Easley a free rein of corruption so why should it stop,just because he left office? Roy, you could have sent Easley to prison!
