As a veteran of the '84 Primary War, I saw the destruction brought on by the traitorous actions of Knox and his people! The republicans never would have won that year with that Liar's help! As with most of the republican victories in this state, they only happen with the help of weak, uncommitted Democrats!

In fact, the only Mayor of Charlotte that I can find who won statewide office was Frank I. Osborne, who was NC Attorney General. (http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/Mayor/Past+Mayors/Frank+I.+Osborne.htm)

Apparently the people of North Carolina disagree with you and are behind McCrory. He leads both Perdue and Moore in a brand new Rasmussenreports.com poll. Isn't it funny that they didn't even waste their time polling the other repubican candidates?

Interesting perspective...He comes across as another arrogant/elitist mayor from Charlotte who rarely travels out of the city (except to go to Paris for transportation meetings - kudos to Justice Orr for that comment) to see the real North Carolinians who aren't concerned about vanity and trying to create a NYC/Yankee utopia in our fine Southern state. Furthermore, the fact he released an email boasting he is the most electable from a biased polling source (I believe he may have conducted it himself) reinforces how out of touch he is with not only the people of North Carolina, but reality. He is quite a smug, egotistical aristocrat who would have jumped in the race by now if he had the guts or fortitude - rather than flaunting himself as the GOP's savior, when in fact his potential candidacy is mere nonsense and buffoonery.

Jcolvard

I think the only joke here is Jcolvard. How can you call a man a divider when he was won 7 terms by landslides. I'm also shocked that you said he "divided" Charlotte with the light rail. Check your facts, bud. The vote passed with 70% of the vote to keep light rail moving forward in Charlotte. I suspect that Jcolvard is just another negative attack dog from Smith or Graham.

McCrory is a joke as a civic leader. Under his watch, the constituency has been forever divided (see LYNX public transportation project, uptown arena referendum). His relations to any demographic (other than the uptown elitist moneybags) is poor at best, and his ability to do what is best for the city of Charlotte is under fire nearly weekly, for good reason. The state of NC would suffer greatly if this clown were elected.
