I volunteered at the Stone Creek Village food drive this morning. People who were participating were being very generous with the canned good donations. There is still a lot of the day/evening left to bring your canned goods and get a free sandwich!

ARGH. Sorry, everyone. I seem to have issues with any link that has a # sign in it. Weird????

I made it a bit.ly link. Try this: http://bit.ly/3Rwkhh

Not complaining, just an FYI. Links are broken in post (as mentioned previously) and RSS feed.

Followed the link in the body of the post from my RSS feed. Took me to this

http://projects.newsobserver.com/under_the_dome/farmers_oppose_apple_insurance_rules

even though link reads as this

http://projects.newsobserver.com/#/haircare/free_sample.aspx

I'll sit tight -- I know you are very conscientious and will work to resolve this.

Thanks for all you do!

That it quite neighborly! Local co-op marketing is probably my favorite method!

Correct- the Red Cross site has a calculator to tell you when you can donate again. It's every so many weeks... but you can give Plasma every 3 days

My understanding from giving blood all these years is that you can donate plasma more frequently. It's a longer visit to Red Cross because the plasma is filtered out of the blood. But for actual whole blood you can only give every 8 weeks (or is it 6?).

Re: Kids eat free at IHOP...

Tried this tonight since we are exhausted after two days of school and didn't want to cook. The catch is the drinks you have to pay for, even for the kids. My 10 year-old daughter ordered an OJ to with her pancake meal and they charged.... are you ready...$2.79 for it, no refills. We spent over thirty dollars including tip for two adults and two "free kids" to eat at I-HOP. We talked about it on the way home and agreed that you can't order pancakes or breakfast food and just drink water. Learned our lesson.

Register at http://www.chickenwave.com for a free sandwich (free to first 250,000). The site can be a little slow, but it will eventually load.

As a customer of Alter ego (who just dropped a small fortune on color last week), I'm always a little bummed to read of great offers for non-loyal (yet, maybe) customers but nothing in-house to keep long-time customers coming in... even when they're budgeting. Triangle Business Journal is terrible about this, too! *Sigh*. Plus, I do remember from good old business school that it takes less money to retain the customers you already have vs. obtaining new ones!
