We in the 11th district HOPE that Mr. Shuler learns to speak better with better grammar before he tries to run again. It must be embarrassing for a UT graduate to have to speak with such poor grammar

'I went to a gun show and 'COME HOME' with a 12 guage for my son' ...

SHEESH, Heath, LEARN TO TALK, bud!

I like Shuler and was delighted to see him beat that criminal, who had done pretty much nothing for his constituency in several terms, last time around.

However, I hope it's the Hendersonville reporter and not the good Representative who thinks that the "Senate" is something different from the "Congress." He may want to focus for now on the "House," but Congress contains both that and the Senate.

Maybe you should start paying attention to what your Congressman does. He is one of the best when it comes to constituent affairs and he is far from a rubber stamp for Pelosi, and Frank (Reid has nothing to do with the House).

So, instead of spouting talking points, learn about your Congressman.

Also, Run Heath Run.

It's not "my regional sports network."

I've checked their lineup and they show absolutely nothing I want to see.
I don't care about baseball, much less UNC-W or App State playing field hockey or lacrosse.

MASN and the NFL Network should be put on the Digital Sports tier just like NBA TV, CSTV and other niche sports channels.

If you want it, you pay for it. I don't want to subsidize your watching habits.

Or better yet, get DirecTV and stop whining.

I WANT MASN!!! And I don't believe for a second that it would increase my cable bill. If the price didn't go down when they took the Orioles off TV, why should it go up to put them back on?

Also, how can anyone claim to be "one of the biggest sports fans around" and not miss having a regional sports network. We aren't just missing the Orioles and Nationals, we are missing the teams they play like the Red Sox (World Series Champions anyone), the Yankees (A-Rod the AL MVP and Jeter), the Mets (Wright and Pedro), and the Phillies (Rollins the NL MVP and Howard last year's NL MVP). On top of that I miss local college teams who are continually overshadowed by Duke, UNC, and NC State. UNC-W basketball is always an NCAA Tournament contender. App St. is a football powerhouse with the biggest upset this year in college football history. I honestly can't believe I live in North Carolina and I'm missing these games. If I lived in Guam that would be one thing, but this is local programming!!!

I'm sorry, but to this big sports fan, it is mind numbing that my cable company refuses to carry my regional sports network.

Lastly, I hope everyone enjoys tonight's NFL match up too. Cowboys vs. Packers on the NFL network. Two storied teams, both 10-1 with marquee QBs playing to determine homefield advantage for the playoffs. Oh, that's right, TWC won't carry the NFL network either. Good stuff.

Maybe for Christmas they can lower our cable bill. HA!

Bully for Congressman Jones.

Time Warner has taken three channels off basic cable in the last year (Outdoor Channel, Travel Channel, Game Show Network) and they took Baltimore Orioles baseball off basic cable.

BUT THEY DIDN'T REDUCE MY CABLE BILL -- in fact, they jack up basic rates every single year. In reality - we're already paying for MASN. TWC just isn't giving it to us.

Time Warner is a thuggish monopoly which is why Democrats (Mayor Meeker, Mayor Bell) and Republicans (Rep. Coble, Rep. Jones) have all come out against Time Warner and for MASN - and MASN's 320 Major League Baseball games and 200 NCAA football and basketball games.

Re: Jonesing for NCAA basketball

Sorry Walter, but until a UNC, Duke or NC State basketball game is missed by the viewing population because it is on that channel, nobody will care about MASN.

I'm one of the biggest sports fans around and there hasn't been one thing on MASN I have cared about missing.

So Walter wants TWC to put MASN on basic cable, thus increasing the cost of ALL cable customers whether they care about watching sports or not.

Thanks, but no thanks Walter. TWC is right to offer to put it on a premium tier so that those who really want to see it will pay additional for it and those of us who care less about the channel won't have to pay for it.

And if it was truly "must have" channel wouldn't there be an overwhelming public demand for it that TWC would recognize and respond to?

Well, Heath should just step outside the D.C. Beltway and try his luck with another team on the mend--the Carolina Panthers. Maybe they could move their next home game to Bryson City or Waynesville.

If th Panthers could just have a plate or two of those sumptious Haywood County scrambled eggs and ramps for Sunday morning breakfast, they'd probably go out and play a lot better football on Sunday afternoon...
