Dole's idea of public service is a combination of: hosting fundraisers for Bush Rangers and other frauds, getting paid $40,000 for 30 minute speaking engagements where she extols the virtue of a country where you can make $40,000 in 30 minutes, and forming charitable foundations that give the bare minimum to the needy in order to retain tax-exempt status.

No doubt she'll continue with "public service" work, at least until she hits the $100 million personal wealth landmark.

She should start a Joseph McCarthy-like Committee on Un-Godly Activities. She can hunt down and expose atheists from all corners of public life! Sunday teachers, beware!! You aren't immune to falling under the scrutiny of Liddy Dole's God Squad.

Kicking Bush when he is down? That man has been stomping the soul out of this country for eight years. Kicking a lady when she is down? She's FINE. She's going back to Kansas and will never have to worry for money or luxury. Meanwhile, she set the tone for her own send off with hers to Kay Hagan.

No, I don't see any evidence of that. I admired McCain's speech and have appreciated similar messages coming from GOP leadership, but the pundits are mostly as vicious as ever and the remarks on this blog and others have followed suit with the same old same old 'tude.

I'm kind of tired of playing nice with people who aren't. Dole wasn't, so she isn't getting any sweet send offs from this citizen.

I think it's very sweet that Dole wants to perform public service. Maybe she can revive Jerry Falwell's "Moral Majority" by starting a Kansas chapter.

The poll is of Americans, but the admirees can be from anywhere in the world and have included Benazir Bhutto, Margaret Thatcher and Mother Teresa.

Interesting that the ad running on TV says top 10 in the world and cites Gallup. Is that the case?
