All that is true but we will be politically correct!!! And that is more important than common sense. It makes people feel good and it will cost a lot of money to show that people are not being discriminated against because they are black.

I resent Sen. Berger suggesting the following: "Concurring in the House version of this bill is a vote to say we should not have a death penalty in North Carolina...." He should retract this statement !

The Democrats are killing us with new taxes. They have proven their penchant for death........by taxes.

Start hanging these animals at the town square. They take no interest in being a good american citizen. They are animals. Most of the time before they kill they have a criminal record as long as a high way. It's what they do. Don't allow them to continue to destroy this country and it's other citizens who are the majority that also have rights but which seem to be forgotten.

Civil rights my ass.

dear lord, that mckissick quote was pointlessly long.

isn't it true that the law is already in place in federal law, there is no evidence of any bias in the current state numbers, and these appeals are particularity expensive because the state is paying for both the prosecutor, the defense and the up keep of the convicted felon at this stage. Despite the current conviction, or the total disregard for guilt, these appeals will cost NC $ 50,000,000. we don't have. just to prove a problem we don't think we have, and an issue that is addressed less expensively in federal law.

Tell it like it is. Africans in this country commit the vast amount of violent criminal acts. Of course it is in their interest to try and claim a civil rights violation again and again and again.

The self loathing, hating liberal whites in this country need to wake up to the realities of what is going on and push back. Demand this particular group gets their act in order with the rest of the world. Your not being a racist for speaking about your legitimate concerns about safety and taxes.

I'm sure someone is going to call me a racist for sure but I'm going to tell it like it is. Period. I'm not a racist, i'm a realist.

Africans, while "keepin it real" love to solve their issues increasingly with the hand gun which in return puts more of them on the stand in Capital Murder cases.

How is it that their so called civil rights are being violated?

What about Society's needs? We can't keep affording to house them, we can't afford to let them walk among us as they will kill, rob, rape again.

Exterminate these animals white or african, a modern society has to move on and eliminate violent criminals that have been in and out of jail their entire lives leading up to the murder/s they commit.

It is difficult to understand some of these people's behavior as most of us in society can't comprehend how these animals live, we are not capable of it, our minds don't work that way,

Was this done to appease organized Black People, I can think of no other reason, As a former Officer I never Arrested anyone because of their Race
And I never heard any other Officer say they did, And I do not believe anyone would give a Death Sentence because of Race, I sure hope the other Members wont go along with the Committee because it is not needed

This "Racial Justice Act" is clearly an attempt to oppose the occassional and deserved execution. Bias is already grounds for appeal or resentencing if it can be proven. This legislation allows persons representing capital offenders to introduce flawed information from anti-death penalty groups to the courts as if they were truth despite the fact that these statistics are irrelevant and unrelated to the capital murder being decided. Persons sponsoring this bill are not interested in resolving racial tensions or justice. More likely they have what they believe to be the best interests of their death row clients in mind.

Can a judge under the Racial Justice Act impose a death sentence where it wasn't originally given if leniency was found to have been applied due to race?

White murderers evade the death penalty some say when murderers of other races are given it in similar incidences.

To correct the recognized defects in our legal system, hopefully this law allows changes in BOTH DIRECTIONS.

(It would definitely not be fair just to allow this law to work only in exonerations.)

Is Sen. McKissick claiming to be able to read the minds of prosecutors? Or is Sen. McKissick just insulting every single prosecutor in this state? Prosecutors are officers of the court and representatives of the victims. Maybe Sen. McKissick needs to focus more on the rights of the victims and let the US Constitution as it stands now protect the defendent's rights.

This is a pure attempt to chip away at the death penalty. The death penalty is applied based on the facts of the case on the actions of the defendent. If this law passes then all defendents will make a attempt to claim race is a factor.

If we are to take your "The Associate" argument to its full conclusion, that means that John McCain should be President since he has been there the longest and not an up-start junior Senator from New York.

The tone of your post reflects DIRECTLY on Obama. Feminism is not a matter of backlash. It's a matter of a MAJORITY of which every black woman is a member.
Obama recalls the smartly dressed antagonist in that Whoopee Goldberg film The Associate. Whoopee Goldberg plays a hardworking female executive who gets "passed up" by slickly tailored junior male assistant. Female voters should take a good look at that movie before voting for the 2-year junior senstor from Illinois.
