He didn't mean to Tom Delay it. After all, he's from the "Real America" that was so "Real America" they voted for Obama (although Palin, Hayes and Dole trademarked being so stupid you didn't know who you were voting for).

Other options were available other than plunging your hand in my pocket. Not disputing something had to be done, but just because pickpocketing was easier doesn't make it right. Thanks for the additional billion and a half in pork by the way. I am looking forward to buying those wooden arrows subsidized in the bill. I have your names and will not only vote accordingly, I will actively campaign to promote the other guy and those who voted no.

An open letter to Brad Miller in the 13th. Neither his campaign site or official congressional homepages can process emails. Must be all the people congratulating him.

Are you resigning or do we need to vote you out? You voted for the 'no bank left behind" bill. As a new resident here, I can assure you, I will do what I can to see that you lose your job in Washington. As someone normally votes, I can assure you I will vote for Hugh Webster in the 13th. I hope that whatever you have gotten for your vote was worth it. You may be re-elected. Maybe you will develop a conscience.

Congressmen David Price of the 4th District and Mel Watt of the 12th District, both former John Edwards backers, declared their support for Obama.

Price said Obama is the man to turn North Carolina blue this year. The Tar Heel State typically votes Republican overall in Presidential elections.

“I believe he’s a leader with the kind of change I want to see,” Price said. “Obama is in the strongest position to bring a new day in diplomacy.”

Congressman Watt said there is only one candidate that has captured the spirit of change and inclusiveness that is "uniquely democratic."

The Democrats say the Presidential race will be closely contested in North Carolina, a central battleground according to Obama’s national campaign manager David Plouffe.

In a press release, Obama said he was pleased to have their support.

"Congressmen Price and Watt are both among the American people's finest representatives. Their leadership is proof that with clear and common purpose, there is no challenge too great for our nation to solve," Obama said. "I look forward to working with them both to ensure America's promise for all Americans and build a better future for North Carolina and our country."

Mr. Shuler could arrange for the WNC tour to be held at the Biltmore Baptist Church in S. Asheville. (If its good enough for Bill Clinton who visited earlier this year...) Not sure if their members are required to be 'born again' but probably encouraged.

The Shuler / Burr suggestion is surprising, but its a thought, albeit a
troubling one.

If the Obama campaign does an "evangelical tour," I hope they will bring the Rev. Jerimiah Wright along. I think he would really appeal to the evangelicals down here in NC.

Seems like a risky thing for Shuler to do. Despite the claims these past few days, Obama has no chance in NC and could only stain Shuler, who I'm sure the Dems are ready to sic on Richard Burr in 2010.
