As a rule, we post about polls from Survey USA, Rasmussen, Civitas, Public Policy Polling and Elon because they regularly poll here and we're familiar with them. (We also write about polls our own papers have done, natch.) We don't write about internal polls or other polls because we'd end up doing nothing else this time of year.

This item was newsworthy because the McCrory campaign was touting a poll by such a well-known Democrat.

Liddy is desperate if she is resorting to childish name calling like "Fibber Kay." Do adults really talk and behave this way? why is it that Republicans resort to negative attack ads so quickly - is it lack of ideas? Lack of imagination? The ad says far more about the lack of ideas and principles of Liddy Dole than it does about Kay Hagan.

Other than falsely implying that Hagan's campaign paid for the original ad...

Other than omitting details for the "Best in Congress award"...

Other than claiming a role in military support which can neither be proven accurate nor inaccurate...

My point was that the DSCC ad was accurate, not that the Dole ad was accurate.

The Hagan campaign didn't pay for the ad. The DSCC did.

Oil companies have access to 35 million (?) acres of land for drilling, including a lot of offshore sites. What Bev Perdue is saying is that she supports offshore drilling in the areas we have already opened up to them. Why open up more areas when they can't even get around to drilling in the 35 million acres that ARE open to them?

Republicans want to give them permanent access for profits. It won't help anything. If 35 million acres of available land isn't enough to drive down the price because of speculators, then how will more empty offshore land do it?

"flip-flop" Bev changed her position only after a poll came out showing most North Carolinians support drilling offshore. The claims department should have been all over this and made note of it.

Bev Perdue was quoted as saying there would never be drilling off the NC coaston her watch. Then poll results showed 75% of North Carolinians were for drilling. Miraculously, Perdue changed her position. A classic flip-flop if there ever was one. This woman is a joke, I hope the residents of the state dont fall for false leadership like this. Talk about say anything to get elected.
