How about Lanny Wilson's manipulation of both Easley's and Perdue's governorships?

Way to go Sen. Kinnaird.

BCBS of North Carolina's executive live in big multi-million dollar mansions while the company constantly nickles and dimes their customers to death.

So great to see some light shown on Bob Grecyn and Brad Wilson's insider manipualtion of the North Carolina political establishment because the N&O certainly has dropped the ball.

Shouldn't he just hold the drill at the Governor's Mansion?

I have interacted with Wayne Goodwin, and he's a smart, capable guy; seriously, though -- how many hats does he wear?

Several, but only one to bed at night. The Fire Marshall hat.

Seriously, he can perform a citizen's arrest on you in Rockingham, then defend you in court. He's the last living Andy Griffith of our time, so he can stand a little ribbing.

I'm beginning to think that he can also perform marriages, preside over bar mitzvahs and validate my parking in any county in NC.

Permit to issue a permit? Please...

I'd love to help, but I'm not a state authorized Notary Public. Wayne Goodwin probably is.

Under the bill, county commissioners could only authorize a fireworks display if the operator has a permit from the Fire Marshall, who is the elected Insurance Commissioner, currently Wayne Goodwin.

...

Operators must have at least $500,000 in insurance.

I doubt Beason under reported his taxes. My guess is he had clients give him 1099's that showed what he then reported on his tax return because the difference went as kickbacks and payoffs to pols and others for favors. So he did not under report his income.Where are the crack reporters on all the corruption in Raleigh and NC.Appears the John Locke Foundation's Carolina Journal is the only paper trying to expose any of the corruption.Could it be because it is almost all democrats.

We sure could help payoff our #3 BILLION shortfall by getting some of that money Beason underreported. Isn't what he did tax evasion. It is one thing to not pay like a Geitner or some of Obama's nominees. Afterall the tax code is thousands of pages. It is another to intentionally underreport and therefore avoid paying taxes.
