is it possible he's holding out for VP?
I doubt it, but might explain his hesitance to endorse.

Re: Reeves: Edwards' response to Iowa off

With regard to to the first part of Edwards' claim, I think, based on the debate in New Hampshire, you can safely say the message is Edwards and Obama represent change (thus the 1,2 finish) and Clinton represents the status quo.

The second part...eh, I dunno...I think he forgot that in that 1,2 finish, he was actually #2.

As much as Rob has done for Edwards over the years you'd think he'd be able to get a flight on campaign plane.

What an ingrate...

I'm really shocked that everyone's acting like he did badly in Iowa. He beat Hillary. I know some predicted he would do that & even better, but it was never a done deal. He could have come in third and it wouldn't have been a huge surprise. Slow & steady...

This is a North Carolina political blog. He's a North Carolina politician. There really isn't much more to it than that.

Thanks for reading!

Why does the N&O always lavish such attention on Edwards - he doesn't even poll first in his own, adopted state...

"Good weather" on caucus night (nothing falling and temps all the way up in the mid-20s) encourages the first-timers to come out for Obama. The Clinton organization comes through to retain a solid second place. Fightin' John Edwards finishes a respectable but disappointing third, reminiscent of Dick Gephardt. Richardson surprises by breaking into double digits. (Note to all my friends backing John--if I'm mistaken, I'll congratulate you tomorrow.)
Obama 32
Clinton 29
Edwards 24
Richardson 10

Mitt discovers that flip-flops are bad shoes for the snow. Even when his facts are wrong, Rev. Mike knows what he believes, and so do his true believers. A late surge of serious Republicans delivers third place to McCain. Wild-eyed Paulunatics carry their man to edge Fred "Mr. Excitement" Thompson by a nose, for what it's worth. Fred announces his return to the regular lineup at Law & Order.
Huckabee 33
Romney 30
McCain 18
Paul 8
Thompson 8
