EWOL you need to back up you statements with actual facts. Can you go back let's say 3 years and give us every "POOR" woman raped and a victime of pedophilia. But why just restrict this funding to poor women. What about middle class women with no health insurance.

I don't think she'll go along with this proposal.

I totally, totally agree. I'd bet $50k could be saved by having the governor drive to a few meetings rather than fly a helicopter or jet. I sure hope she will override this cut.

Well I guess technically you are right that Governor Perdue hasn't recently taken a stance on the state abortion fund - but one could argue she took a stance against it in 1995 as one of the NC Senate’s chief budget writers when she helped cut funding for the state abortion fund from $1.2 million to $50,000.

The 50K is like spitting in the ocean. When many poor women are victims of rape and pedophilia, getting pregnant is an assault. These women and young girls deserve AT LEAST an abortion, if they don't want to parent. In the long run, this would be cheaper than dealing with the results of unwanted parenthood.

Just to be clear: Perdue has not taken a stance on the state abortion fund. These proposals were given to her by agency heads.

Kudos to you Bev! Civilized people can disagree about allowing abortions, but forcing taxpayers to pay for what some believe to be immoral is clearly wrong.

Why does bat brings guns into this issue? Get rid of them? oh just like we are getting rid of deadly drugs? Should we just start abolishing your free speech contained in the 1st admendment while we are abolishing the 2nd and hey let's get rid of that pesky 4th admendment too. Criminals will always be able to obtain anything that is in demand. So when that bad guy is breaking down your door and is planning on using his gun, you just make that 911 and pray to God help gets to you in time.

We have stronger laws in place protecting your pet or any animal than we do protecting a unborn child. In this state if you kill a woman's fetus even if it is near term, IT IS NOT MURDER! That is a extremist position.

I think we should be protecting the civil rights of the most innocent. So many young are killed by loaded guns left around the house or by gang violence using guns. We need to get rid of these right away.
