Top ten?

Can I even name 40 states that suck more in nanotechnology?

I'll try.

Every state that touches us. Then all the ones that voted for McCain.

Am I close?

Bet I am.

In all seriousness, why has it taken them over 5 1/2 months to fix the freaking sidewalks! The construction really is a disgrace.

There is also another great song out there that would be a great song for North Carolina. It is called North Carolina....The Place To Be, by Dick Barnes. Although more bluegrass than rock, if you just hear this song, you would know it would be perfect. I read on his website that it has been # 1 in over 10 countries. You have just got to hear this song!!!!

Link to the site:

What About Home in My Heart (North Carolina) by Claudia Church

I remember waking up
Running down a dirt road
Morning dew a shinin', watermelon by the wagon load
Little baby brother and my sisters in the shade
Listening to the crickets and the music that they made
Riding on a tractor with my granpa in the summertime
Cold bologna sandwich, green tomatoes on the garden vine
Billy Joe McMillan was the first boy that I ever knew
he moved to California and it broke my heart in...

North Carolina...your pine trees so tall
Your hills and your valleys, your cool waterfalls
Your Blue Ridge Mountains
Your fields and your streams
Are lost on the back roads that run through my dreams
Of North Carolina...Home in my heart

Skinny legs and barefoot on the top of an abandoned car
Pouring out my heart just like a country music singing star
Pinecone for a microphone
Full moon for a spotlight
Shining down from heaven, like it's smiling on me

North Carolina...your pine trees so tall
Your hills and your valleys, your cool waterfalls
Your Blue Ridge Mountains
Your fields and your streams
Are lost on the back roads that run through my dreams
Of North Carolina...Home in my heart

Although it seems like yesterday
I'm still a million miles away
Going to the ocean in my uncle's new sedan
Daddy's in the Army, there's a war in Vietnam
Mama kept us going with her sewing and a prayer
It's hard to be a family when your daddy's missing

North Carolina...your pine trees so tall
Your hills and your valleys, your cool waterfalls
Your Blue Ridge Mountains
Your fields and your streams
Are lost on the back roads that run through my dreams
Of North Carolina...Home in my heart

Home in my heart
Re: Cities would pay for campaigns

To me as a taxpayer, the only thing worse than elected politicians getting to help themselves to my money for their own fun and games would be politicians getting to help themselves even when they're not elected. But not to be glib, taxpayer financing of campaigns seems to be an especially bad idea to push now in light of the recent Supreme Court ruling of Davis v. Federal Elections Commission.

Here is an original idea: CUT SPENDING! How about not spending money you don't have! Stealing money from the Education Lottery confirms all our fears and concerns about having Democrats in charge...

“In my head, I know how I am going to balance this year’s budget,” Perdue said. “I have a pretty good idea about the next two years. A lot of people are going to be furious, but I’m going to do it the way I think I need to do it.”

We are already furious!!!!!!!!! STOP SPENDING ALL OUR MONEY ON USELESS WEBSITES THAT THE AVERAGE CITIZEN WILL NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO COMPEHEND!!!! WE are Furious that you are hiring your good ole boys and friends that need to stay retired and you have the nerve to pay them in the six figure numbers but yet you want to slash slash slash. Cut your own budget on the hill and slash your salary first before you lay people off and cut programs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are killing the NC economy by putting the average worker out of work!!!!!!!!!!

A fair point. I was just thinking that I should create one this afternoon. The profiles are done of major political figures, including all the members of the Cabinet, the Congressional delegation and the Council of State, key legislators and others. I add them when I have the time, but I'd have a couple dozen more if I had my way. The other folks, such as Mr. Bullock, were added as part of the election coverage.

Feel free to suggest others for Dome profiles, and I'll put them on a master list.

I am amazed that any governor even Governor Purdue would let him stay in state government. He was a complete failure as DHHS secretary. Make you wonder what he has on Governor Purdue? Cherry Hospital is in a mess, costing us $800,00 a month as north Carolina taxpayers. The new hospital at Butler is getting ready to loss federal funding. THIS IS A NEW JOB, WERE DOES MONEY COME FROM?

This quote was from another story about this 'created job'.
