Re: Easley aide lands at NCAE

I have no problem with these type appointments. I personally believe that once you get a political or state job you should have one for life. If one job ends another agency or branch of government should give you one. Once you are on the public payroll you are not qualified to return to the private sector. I once farmed and I can tell you truthfully that once you start a hog off eating out of the trough, they become dependent on it. You just cannot set them loose into the wild. That would be cruel. We need to take care of the agency and state employees and not be cruel. There is plenty of money to go around so get over it. The supposed shortage of money is just a scam to get people to eat off the dollar menu.

Yep, when will Sleazely be INDICTED for various charges? Atty Generals protect the ones before them in NC!

You can BET that this new appointment is indicative of more potential CORRUPTION within the state!

Given Anderson's shady past, you cant tell me that not one of the other 165 applicants, with less involvement, wouldnt have been a better choice, but we know who controls everything - democrackkks.

Attorney General Roy Cooper has given Easley a free rein of corruption so why should it stop, just because he left office? Roy, you could have sent Easley to prison!

If Hagan wanted to bring unions to the state she chose the wrong job. Actually her old job as a state legislator would be where she could influence union laws in NC.

Hopefully she will help bring unions into the state so the workers here can start getting a fair shake. The workers in NC have been abused far too long with no one to turn to for assistance. The main problem is, they don't even know how they have been getting bent over.

And these Unions all believe in the public check card instead of secret ballots. Oh that reminds me, why is it ok for Democrats in Congress to choose their members by secret ballot but not ok for American workers to select whether to have a union by a secret ballot?

Gosh, it's almost like people that work for a living in NC can now compete with the corporate stock holders of our companies that live in NYC and hostile nations like China.

Root Of Poverty

The social and economic injustice is one of the roots of poverty in this world. I can’t understand how any person can sleep at night taking advantage of the poorest and least able to provide for themselves. The rich and famous lives in greed while the poor and lowly are left in pity. That is why the majority of the people are experiencing financial hardships. . And yet, the world produces enough food and wealth to free everyone from hunger and extreme poverty. By sharing our resources and the control over those resources more fairly, millions of poor people could enjoy new opportunities to enhance what they can do and who they become. We believe that everyone has the right to a dignified livelihood and that it is possible to sustain such livelihoods on our limited global natural resources. The people have pointed America’s next President of the United States. “Change” is what the U.S. has chosen by electing Barack Obama. There is no doubt that change is in store for us. Whether this change is for the better or for the worse is yet to be seen. It’s obvious that Americans believe Obama will bring a positive change to our country. He spoke promising words to restore confidence in the hearts of the unsure with plans to lower taxes for the middle class, put a timeline on the war in Iraq, and cut the federal budget “line by line.” However, what many Americans fail to realize is the fact that Obama also supports the elimination of payday lending industries. He thinks demolishing the payday loan industry will protect low-income families from being victimized by predatory lenders. However, this will be a threat to our financial freedom. Maybe Obama will bring positive change to the United States, but taking away one of the most reliable resource many people have come to depend on during financial fallbacks is not only a risk to our rights to financial freedom, but it is clearly NOT a great start to create the positive change we all desperately need.

Re: the offshore drilling "error"...just drilling the word "off" into your vocabulary. Sorry if that went over your head; however, it's not your head I am worried about. It's Playboy Pat's with his inability to understand even the most rudimentary ideas regarding education. I have taught a long time, and I know what he does not...our public schools do an admirable job! How can we regulate students who come to us sick, hungry, homeless, illiterate, and disenchanted with society as a whole? Giving vouchers to some students will only intensify the glaring differences b/w the "haves" and the "have nots". How can it escape McCrory's fans that he can't spell; he misuses words; and he has no experience whatsoever?
Can you spell clueless?
"Calkalation" (McCrory's pronunciation) of status quo: McCrory = Bush

The nature of the "status quo" is the following:
-They don't want to change as they have it too comfortable now
-They don't know what to change
-They don't know how to change

Our educational system is not working and we need some new ideas whatever they are. My hunch is that Ms Perdue, particularly since she has a Ph.D in education, is too well grounded in the "status quo" of educational to be able to make any real changes. Let's at least explore new options.
