Why do I feel like an idiot for not embracing all of this green. Why are we going to make housing less affordable to satisfy the enviros and not do anything to lower utility bills with any significance and raise utility costs with a cap and trade bill. Duke Power is about to invest mucho rate payer dollars on wind mills in Pamilico Sound to appease a small group of wind proponents even though we all know it will never be cost effective. I just do not understand the Governor pushing for all of these so called green jobs and I do not know what they are except for more college professors taking gov't money for more studies. I guess someoe will explain it to me someday. I am sure it is part of that political correctness stuff.

Green jobs or gringo jobs?

How bout a REAL NC Jobs 'program' that OUTLAWS employers from hiring ANY ILLEGALs to work for them?

Start with this for some REAL change, Bev!

Drill and dig. We have the natural gas and the world greatest source of coal however the environmental Nazis are in control! Vote them out in 2010!

Burr is the NC equivalent of PAC Man. But, this is trivial in contrast to the massive amount of money he will have next year - from PACs, Corporate lackeys and Lobbyists. We need to get rid of Burr, he is an embarrassment to the people who elected him.

Ben,

Shouldn’t the headline read: Burr has 3.4 million. Considering that $461,445 you left off is almost 3 times the amount any of his opposition has. Just trying to be fair since you put Lewis and Marshall’s numbers up like that. Thanks.

So basically this is another tax supported by our state government. If this is so great why did the Kennedy's stop the effort from putting wind mills at martha's Vineyard.

As I commented on the recent article on windmills in Pamlico Sound, the renewable energy answer is woody biomass, not wind.

If you're interested, here's a link to an article showing how New Hampshire is doing it: http://www.winnisquamecho.net/Articles-c-2009-09-24-149573.113119_Schools_wood_chip_heating_system_a_money_saver.html

It was too good to be true. I thought Duke Power would fit the bill out of research and development money. Now it seems they are only laying out the money in advance and will collect later. $300,000 in stimulous money doesn't sound like much to me so I am sure Legislature will ante up what ever UNC needs for the rest. Natural gas exploration will pay royalties to the taxpayers. We will still need oil and natural gas even if by some wild chance the wind farms are productive. I know the studies will twist the truth around and state how cost effective they are since UNC will want more money to do more studies and on and on and on. The Watergate investigation was right, follow the money.
BTW. Perdue and all balanced the budget this year with stimulous money, what are we going to do in 2 years with a new budget and Obama on the ropes?

Oh jeez, don't these people have enough lobbyist?
None are going to take credit for disasters.
None are going to bring up the idea that they should.

Maybe they'll prop up a scape-goat, I've heard that works.

Here it is come one, come all to the greatest show in NC. All you coffers line up so I can give you the taxpayers money. People, it's simple its called flood Raleigh with enough complaints that the media will look for scandal and she'll be the first gov. to resign and go to prison just like her friend Jim Black. Who is ever out there with a grudge start getting your evidence together so that this can be done by 2010 and then a real person can be put in office. N&O you have started by not endorsing her so start looking for the dirt. It has to be there in plain sight.

Another opportunity to dialogue with people who are out of touch with reality. Numbers analyzed by people who make hundreds of thousands of dollars and who only know about homeless and jobless people from a TV screen. More cutting edge insanity in NC.

But the recent reporting of reading score declines in NC schools proves it's easier just to be told what to do than have to try to read....Charltte is the crown jewel of North Caroina!
