Obama's visit to Raleigh was fortunate in many ways, one that I've yet to read anything about: The coincidence(?) of finding a terror cell in a small Southern city on the eve of a presidential visit. Could it be that NSA has been sweeping telephone conversations between Raleigh and the war zones lately?

What about Jerry Meek, the progressive NC Dem party chair who in four years rebuilt the party infrastructure through inclusiveness, made Obama's grassroots work possible, and steered state Democrats from a 6-7 U.S. House deficit to an 8-5 majority, picked up a U.S. Senate seat, and helped turn NC blue for president for the first time since '76, while simultaneously dominating state positions and the NC house and senate? Possibly up for a position on the political staff?
