The one thing Dole has going for her is her charisma and Southern charm. She comes through well on TV, with her sappy, folksy appeals to the past. Why would she not want to debate more? She's behind, and she comes across better on TV than Hagan does. Oh well. I'm fine with her only on-air exposure being the very effective DSCC and Hagan ads.

Beverly Perdue is a liar …..“You can't trust her, I just call it like I see it” THESE ARE THE WORDS OF Joe Mavretic, the former DEMOCRATIC speaker of the NC house. Here is the video of Mr. Mavretic saying these words and explaining why he said it. The entire clip is 6 minutes long, forward it to 5 minutes if you just want to hear the part where he says WE CANT TRUST BEVERLY PERDUE!!!

Dole: Happy to debate

GREENVILLE — U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole said today that she would be happy to debate her Democratic challenger, Kay Hagan.

Responding to reporters after touring a hospital in Greenville, Dole dismissed claims that she is dodging debates, reports Barb Barrett.

"We've already had one, as you know," Dole said. "There are others that I think are being looked at, and I am happy to do whatever."
