Sinsheimer's latest target is Orange County Progressive Democrat Verla Insko. As covered on Orange County's only open political forum, SqueezeThePulp.com, corruption amongst elected officials knows no partisan affiliation or idealogy. A finer examination of public officals relations to non-profits and a greater transparency in government are definitely in order.

Joe Sinsheimer repeated yesterday that he is not paid to dig up dirt.

The former Democratic political operative, who has been crusading for legislative ethics, was asked on WUNC's "The State of Things" if he has been paid for his work. His response:

"I haven't received a nickel of compensation from anybody since I started this. I think it kind of speaks volumes about the culture over on Jones Street in the General Assembly that so many people did believe that some interest group was paying me."

Sinsheimer, who worked for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama and others in the past, said his motivation in filing complaints against former House Speaker Jim Black, Rep. Thomas Wright and others is to clean up his own party's problems so that it doesn't lose power.

"I really believe that we have superior ideas to Republicans and that we should be able to win on the merits," he said. "We shouldn't have to win by bribery."
