Brownfields: We'll have plenty of those on our shores if we dive into offshore drilling on the coast.
Home ownership: by gaming the lending rules, we now have record rates of home foreclosure because people can't afford the loans they were squeezed into.
Bush: Strong and decisive leadership? Got us into Iraq. Bin Laden still roams the Pashtun hills.

I might suggest that if democrats listened to what Mayor McCrory was speaking about at the 2004 convention, they would say that North Carolina's cities did benefit from Bush's first 4 years:
- Successful environmental (brownfield) legislation. In fact, Beverly & Pat generally agree on this improvement in NC based on the last debate (heck, Beverly's probably taking credit for it!)
- Jobs created by small businesses increased
- Minority home ownership improved
- No more terrorist attacks on our cities, large & small. (The Mayor has been involved in Homeland Security for several years now - which can't hurt NC citizens)

Another interesting question is, who is Beverly supporting these days (or what leadership is supporting her)? She appears to be distancing herself from Obama, Easley and Hunt as well as the legislative leadership. Yet, what has she stood up for against the power elite over the past 8 years? Nothing because she has been one of them.

So Democrats think linking McCrory to Bush in 2004 will hurt him? Bush got what percentage of NC votes in 2004? 58% to 60%?
