How can democrackkks embrace a man who called his 12 year old daughter a PIG? But you gotta love Kim Bassinger for putting that out to the media!

We have had enough years of incompetent lying Republican mediocrity at the National level, in which the GOP, to paraphrase Alec Baldwin, has its lips firmly affixed to the derriere of the Christian right. This form of Republicanism is strong in this state - the latest example being Republican support for bullying and killing of gay kids or even just kids who are taunted as gay, whether they really are or not. Let's dispense with any notion that this has to do with morality, which the Republicans claim is the sole property of their sanctimonious yet hypocritical and vacuous party. So, what difference does it make to say a state is "solidly" Republican or just "likely" to be Republican. Neither is a compliment.

Were these "clarfications" the necessary result of careless report on your behalf or where they the result of biased reporting attempting to put the N&O's Democrat spin on things?

You really should be more careful, people could think you were as biased as the editorial page if too many more clarifications like these were needed.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Senate's chief political Democrat puts the North Carolina race at a mid-tier level on his ranking of winnable seats in November.

Sen. Charles Schumer of New York, who heads the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, called Kay Hagan a good challenger, but the race is close, he told Dome Wednesday.

Schumer put North Carolina on par with other senatorial races he called “even or close” in states such as Oregon, Minnesota, Mississippi, Kentucky and Maine, Barb Barrett reports.

That mirrors the predictions of other political punditry outfits such as the Cook Political Report, which recently shifted North Carolina into the "leans Republican" category and away from solid Republican.

Polls in recent months showed Hagan gaining on incumbent Sen. Elizabeth Dole, then slipping after Dole launched a major advertising blitz, then holding steady double digits short of the Republican.
